The Planning and Land Use Management Committee (PLUM) will consider approving the Landscape and Site Design Ordinance on December 3, 2024,? advancing many of the City’s? sustainability objectives. The draft ordinance will be presented to the City Council in 2025. In late October, the City Planning Commission (CPC) recommended approving the ordinance. Last updated in 1996, the ordinance takes a more holistic approach to landscape and site design by encouraging projects that better connect site design, climate resilience, walkability, and livability. The ordinance also advances environmental justice by incentivizing urban forest conservation and expansion, and?enhances biodiversity in our most vulnerable communities.? You can subscribe to Council File Number 24-1399 (https://lnkd.in/g7KhBK4t) associated with the draft ordinance by clicking the “subscribe via email” button on the web page to receive updates on future meeting dates.
