Get to know Aaron Sandoval, our Video Assistant! ?? Tell us a little bit about what you do for the Chargers. I am a video assistant; a big part of my job is assisting the coaches daily with whatever they need for scouting our current and future opponents. This entails making cut-ups of film, helping coaches with all their technology needs, and filming games/practices. I love my job. There is a lot of pressure at times meeting tight deadlines and working under high stressed situations, like a computer going out during a team meeting, but a major key to building the players’ and coaches’ trust is staying cool under pressure. What is the most rewarding part of your job? Helping our coaches and players with any technical issues they may have. At times, there is a lot of pressure on us to get things done in a timely manner, and when you can solve it right away, it's one of the best feelings. Being the person that people can depend on is special. At times, it is a thankless endeavor, but solving problems is why working in coaches' video is fun. What aspects of Latino culture are most important to you, and why? The hard-working mentality of Latino culture has always been very important to me. A lot of my family came to this country as farmers and ranchers, working long hours to provide for their families. My grandfather instilled that mentality into my father, who then passed it down to me. Being able to work long hours and assist the team in any way possible to help this organization win its first Lombardi Trophy is something I take pride in. Are there any traditions or customs you particularly cherish? The family, in Latino culture, is very sacred. Every year, my family has a reunion and it’s one of the best traditions we keep. Hundreds of Sandovals from across California, the United States, down to Mexico come together to play games and eat a lot of food. It's always one of the highlights of the year for me. It is those strong family ties that I carry with me here at the Chargers with my coworkers. I do my best to try to make everyone I meet here feel included and loved. Are there any Latino leaders or role models who have influenced your career or personal development? My father, Victor Sandoval. He came to California at a young age and went on to serve in the United States Navy, which helped him gain his citizenship. He then had me and my five siblings, managing to get all of us through college while sometimes working two jobs at once. He did this so we could have a better life. He is my true inspiration and the reason I am fulfilling a dream by working in the NFL. #workinsports

Meet Omar F., our Senior Coordinator, Partnership Management! ?? Tell us a little bit about what you do for the Chargers. I work within the organization's Partnerships team, building relationships with team sponsors through asset execution. We want our partners to feel that they are a part of the Chargers, and that happens by going above and beyond the scope of the partnership. This role also includes working together with all internal departments of the Chargers organization. Through collaboration of the sponsor and the internal teams, we are able to create meaningful activations that impact our fans and communities. What is the most rewarding part of your job? There are so many rewarding parts of the job. One of my favorites is taking an idea from 'concept' to 'execution' with the collaboration of the sponsor and the organization. I work with so many talented and creative individuals, both internally and externally, who aren't afraid to think outside of the box to reach our fans. Numerous community events, legend appearances, draft parties, STEM competitions, flag-football tournaments, and faith nights are just a few examples of successful activations that are the results of collaboration between partners and internal stakeholders. What aspects of Latino culture are most important to you, and why? The most important aspect of the Latino culture to me is the emphasis placed on family and friends. Through all of my highs and lows in my life, I have felt the presence of my family and friends supporting me. This has shown up in my daily work life, where my team depends on each other to achieve our goals. My culture has shaped me to always be there for others - my family, my friends, and my partnerships teams. Are there any traditions or customs you particularly cherish? One of my favorite traditions is for anyone's birthday within my immediate family, we have a tres leches cake from Porto's Bakery. It was the icing on the cake (pun intended?) for any birthday celebration and brings back so many childhood memories. Nothing beats the feeling of someone walking into a party with the Porto's bag. The iconic LA bakery is worth the 30+ minutes it will take you to find parking and wait in line for a cake, pastry, cubano, or potato ball. Are there any Latino leaders or role models who have influenced your career or personal development? My parents are my biggest role models; they work incredibly hard and have taught me the value of hard work. My career and personal development all stems from them raising me to be a caring, hard-working individual. This has also been passed to my siblings, where I know a lot of my daily working habits come from. When work becomes stressful, I think about my family, and the sacrifices they've taken to support me and help me achieve my dreams and ambitions. #workinsports #partnerships
