Profoundly honored to have been named Los Angeles Business Journal’s “Nonprofit Executive of the Year” for Mid-Sized Organizations at last week’s Nonprofit & Corporate Citizenship Awards ceremony, which also provided an opportunity to elevate the power of mentorship and collaborative partnerships through a engaging panel discussion. Progress is never linear, and thinking of this honor in context of the external challenges (and internal development) that have been navigated over the last five years makes it even more special. I am so lucky to do work that I love, with people who inspire me and bring me joy, serving a mission that I am deeply passionate about; and I know that unique trifecta lead to this “pinch me” moment ?? The January fires that devastated the communities of Altadena and Pacific Palisades have caused billions of dollars in damage and economic impact on a scale not seen in this region since the 1994 Northridge earthquake.
