Reynold Hoover shared his vision for the Olympic Games and in creating a lasting legacy for Los Angeles. He spoke of the torch relay’s journey through all 50 states, the spirit of volunteerism, and opportunities for diverse small businesses to contribute to this global event. He emphasized the importance of collaboration with the business community to ensure the Games leave a positive impact. The final Women in Leadership event of the year brought together an inspiring group of leaders to discuss mental health and wellness. Hosted by Charlene Dimas-Peinado at Wellnest, the conversation was moderated by Celeste Alleyne (Microsoft). Panelists Charlene Dimas-Peinado (Wellnest), Dr. Supatra Tovar Tovar (Dr. Supatra Tovar & Associates), and Denise Diaz (The Chicago School of Professional Psychology at Los Angeles) shared invaluable insights on fostering well-being in our professional and personal lives. The Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce led a broad coalition of small businesses, employers, and community leaders with the Alliance for Economic Fairness to unite oppose the proposed Living Wage Ordinance. President & CEO Maria S. Salinas noted that the proposed ordinance, while well intentioned, is harmful, especially to small businesses. Thank you to coalition members that joined the press event.
