Lorinet Foundation is proud to support Asia Philanthropic Ventures (apV) in their on-the-ground learning and community engagement experience in Mongolia. Based in Singapore, apV is dedicated to high engagement philanthropy aimed at building the capacity of charitable organisations within Asia. As part of its annual learning experience, apV visited Mongolia to explore its social impact landscape and engage with local social purpose organizations. In line with our commitment to knowledge advancement and promoting our grantee partners, Lorinet Foundation facilitated apV’s field visits to the programmes of OneSky and Christina Noble Children's Foundation - Кристина Ноблийн Х??хдийн Сан, and conducted knowledge-sharing session focused on our insights into Mongolia’s social impact landscape. We commend apV’s approach of understanding the needs firsthand – a true testament to high-engagement philanthropy and a deep commitment to understanding local communities and their needs. #Philanthropy #Asia #Mongolia #LearningJourney Pierre Lorinet Bolor Lorinet Thierry de Panafieu Sumit Joshi Tamir Batsaikhan Erdenesuvd Batulzii Dashnorov Oyuntugs Zayasaikhan Dugeree Vivian Gee Song Wah Ng

We are excited to continue our partnership with OneSky, supporting the transition-to-scale phase of the ‘Building Better Futures’ project, aimed at improving development outcomes of youngest children in Mongolia. Building on the success of the pilot phase and leveraging partnerships formulated with key stakeholders, including government, OneSky is now expanding its efforts to reach more children, families and childcare workers that need support – not only in Ulaanbaatar’s the 'ger' districts, but across Mongolia. We are excited to continue our partnership with The Asia Foundation, supporting the ‘Let’s Read Mongolia’ project. This initiative aims to improve literacy and numeracy outcomes for young Mongolian children by promoting early reading engagements, which are vital for their academic and future success. Building on the success of phase I, Lorinet Foundation is proud to extend its support to scale the project. In the next phase, while continuing to increase the availability of children’s books and expanding opportunities for caregivers to engage in reading with children, the project will also deepen collaboration with policy makers to prioritise early reading at a systemic level. Building on the success of previous phases, Lorinet Foundation is extending funding support for Zorig Foundation to scale up the "Sustainable Employment for Youth Programme." This phase focuses on strengthening career services at universities to better equip students for meaningful employment. Lorinet Foundation continues to lead the first?of?its?kind Mongolian Early Childhood Development Network (#MECDN), co-established in 2022 in collaboration with UNICEF Mongolia. Aimed at strengthening the local early childhood ecosystem, MECDN serves as a platform providing variety of opportunities for cross-learning, capacity building and synergy exploration opportunities for its members, representing nonprofits, development partners, academia, public and private sector stakeholders. In the first half of 2024, quarterly meetings, site visits and thematic trainings were organized enabling deeper practice exchange and knowledge building among the members. Additionally, network co-leads facilitated various internal surveys and consultations to identify areas to further strengthening the governance, understand members’ needs, and foster collaborations. Special thanks to members School of Preschool Education, Good Neighbors Mongolia and GerHub for co-organising this year’s engagements as well as Asia-Pacific Regional Network for Early Childhood (ARNEC) and Network Impact for strengthening MECDN's capacity. Advancing MECDN strongly aligns with our foundation’s systemic impact priority of bringing like-minded players together for concerted actions to strengthen the ecosystems we work in.
