?? We are excited to be partnering with City Prosecutor Doug Haubert to offer a paid summer internship program for students. The program will provide eligible high school and college students with valuable, real-world experience in the legal and justice fields. The six-week paid internship program offers participants exposure to various legal career paths. Participants will have the opportunity to attend legal seminars and court proceedings while acquiring practical experience by assisting attorneys or staff with administrative duties. They will also learn about the justice system and different roles in the field, including Deputy City Prosecutor, paralegal, law enforcement officer, crime lab technician and dispatch operator. Compensation will be biweekly at a rate of $17.28 per hour, for a total of up to 160 hours, which includes 20 hours of paid skill development training. Apply by ?? Tuesday, April 8, 2025?? ??For #TsunamiPreparednessWeek, March 22-30, the City of Long Beach Disaster Preparedness department is encouraging residents to get informed and develop and practice evacuation plans for their families, home and workplace. The City will host a Tsunami Preparedness Fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 29 at Will Rogers Mini Park to learn more about the signs of a tsunami, how to mitigate injury, and practice evacuating from a tsunami hazard zone to safety. In partnership with the Little Lion Foundation, we are launching the Long Beach Community ?? Cat Project! ?? To celebrate the project launch, the City and The Little Lion Foundation invite the community to a grand opening event and ribbon-cutting ceremony, taking place from 1 to 3 p.m. on ?? Saturday, March 29, 2025, at The Little Lion Foundation headquarters (?? 1179 E. Wardlow Rd.). ?? This project, a first of its kind in the city, is focused on significantly reducing the overpopulation of free-roaming community cats in Long Beach and its service cities of Cerrito, Los Alamitos, and Signal Hill by providing free and accessible sterilization surgeries and animal care resources to community cats.
