The Lone Star Youth Winds begins their season on Sunday, March 2nd at 3pm as they return to Moody Performance Hall in Dallas for a cinematic program tItled MARCH TO THE MOVIES. The Youth Winds under the director of Andrew Trachsel will take you on a journey with timeless movie scores and great wind band music. Music which will stoke the imagination with visions of kings, whales, dinosaurs...and stormtroopers! The concert will also feature euphonium soloist Donald Bruce performing Irish-inspired music along with the famed Carnival of Venice!! Since 2006, our Lone Star Kids program has provided over 13,000 Lone Star Wind Orchestra concert tickets to students. For many of these students, this is their first live classical music experience. Amy Stokes spoke about her love of performing horn in the #LSWO. She said, “As a kid, I listened to professional wind band recordings. I listened to Cincinnati Wind Symphony and UNT. I never dreamed I would sit in a group like this myself and contribute to music history the same way I cherished as a young person.
