RECRUITMENT IS OPEN for remote part-time contractors at Logrus Global. Remote work: Training/evaluating AI output. Languages: Spanish, Swedish, Norwegian, Dutch, Danish, German, Swiss German, Swiss French, Swiss Italian, Austrian German, Belgian French, Russian (No advanced technical skills required, but must be fluent in language. Experience in translation or professional writing is a big plus.) The hourly rate depends on the language. ONLY for individuals located outside of Russia, Belarus, and former USSR countries, and other US sanctioned countries! Tasks depend on qualifications, the goal is helping to train AI models to improve their language. Tasks include reading and ranking AI-generated text, evaluating text accuracy, and sometimes creating short stories to enhance the model’s language capabilities. You will need to watch a training video. There will be a short (12-minute) skill assessment test. Registration requires a mobile number and ID (excluding Nordic languages) to confirm your location. After completing the test, you will be assigned tasks, and can work online at any time that suits you. Hours worked are entered into the portal, and we pay biweekly. ???? We celebrated September 30, widely recognized as International Translation Day, by participating in an event organized by Translation Commons, which focused on indigenous languages. We delivered a presentation on using GenAI for translating indigenous languages. GenAI has been transformative for the translation industry, offering numerous applications for those working with indigenous languages. It allows you to learn the basics of the language, retrieve hard-to-find information about it, use #GenAI as a search engine to explore facts about indigenous language, and utilize it to review and correct common mistakes. However, when it comes to indigenous languages, GenAI’s capabilities have significant limitations. This is because the online training corpus available for indigenous languages is much smaller than that for more commonly used languages. Consequently, GenAI can be a tool for indigenous languages, but its output requires verification. Translation Commons is a non-profit volunteer community that aims to assist indigenous and minority communities in digitizing their languages.
