AME Annual Commissioning Service: A somber and at the same time joyful moment in time that leads to a new year of service and striving to serve God and His people through ministry. Last week our bishop appointed or reappointed (as in my case) her pastors to their “charges,” or “stations,” meaning the churches we will pastor. I wear two vocational hats-real estate developer and pastor. The pastor hat is the one I never take off. As a husband, father, developer, friend, partner, son, one way or another, I am always seeking to uplift, empower, and serve. Sometimes I miss the mark, and when I do, charge it to my head and not my heart. I try to bring people into a closer and meaningful relationship with God. Meaning to pastor. Walker & Dunlop's Multifamily Finance team has been tasked to raise $400 million in debt and equity capital for Logos Development for the development of more than 2,000 affordable housing units across the West Coast. These developments are in line with Gov. Gavin Newsom’s 'Yes In God’s Backyard' bill, which allows religious institutions to build housing on their property by right.
