What is the # 1 behavior that drives trust for leaders? In “The Power of Genuine Leadership: How Authentic Leaders Earn Trust,” author Dr. Patrick Donahue cracks the code on how to build trust as a leader with the Authenticity Trust Model (ATM). The Model highlights three behavioral domains that, when applied consistently, enhance your trustworthiness as a leader. The first: consistent communication. Donahue also explains communication, the way of genuinely connecting with people through a two-way dialogue, is enhanced through courage and accountability. Logos Institute helps leaders to engage the people who matter to them when it matters most.
关于我们
At Logos Consulting Group, we believe in building a better world — one leader and one organization at a time. We do this by helping our clients inspire those who matter to them to make a difference in their own industries and communities, and the world at large. Through Logos Institute for Crisis Management and Executive Leadership, we empower leaders through our executive coaching practice to take their leadership to the next level. From managing a crisis to launching a product, from leading employees to speaking with reporters, leadership itself requires the same rigor as other parts of business. But, too often, when the time comes to engage stakeholders in pursuit of that success, leaders abandon that rigor. To engage stakeholders effectively, leaders need clear goals, a clear understanding of the people who matter, and the discipline and tools to engage their stakeholders effectively. We have coached more than 400 CEOs and thousands of other senior executives in large corporations representing a variety of complex fields. We have helped leaders in industries as diverse as pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, technology, financial services, religious organizations, and not-for-profit advocacy groups. Our clients tell us that the Logos way of coaching and teaching is intellectually stimulating, emotionally resonant, grounded in both theory and reality, immediately applicable, and foundational – allowing executives to continue learning and applying our lessons long after the sessions. It is National Native American Heritage Month. In celebration of this heritage month, members of the Logos team are sharing their recommendations of books, videos, documentaries, movies, or TV shows that are either created by Native American creators and/or are centered around the histories, cultures, or stories of Indigenous peoples. Today, Helio Fred Garcia shares his recommendation for what to read this month -- "An Indigenous Peoples' History of the United States" by Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz. “The book details the complexity and sophistication of Indigenous societies before European colonization. It notes that Indigenous communities had rich, thriving cultures with advanced political systems, economies, and spiritual traditions. However, when European settlers arrived, they brought with them a mindset of domination, seeing the land as a resource for exploitation and the Indigenous people as obstacles to be removed," he explains. "A key argument of the book is that the foundation of the United States was built on the violent dispossession and systematic erasure of Native American cultures and lands. Policies such as the Indian Removal Act, the Trail of Tears, and the reservation system were not incidental but were part of a deliberate strategy to claim land for European settlers and, later, the U.S. government. Dunbar-Ortiz argues that this legacy of colonial violence set a precedent for ongoing inequities and injustices faced by Indigenous communities today.” #NationalNativeAmericanHeritageMonth

What does it take to rebuild your business after a crisis to move past survival mode and onto a path to thrive again? At Logos, we have helped clients adapt and rebuild when their organizations were in dire straits. What we've found is that organizations can strategically focus their rebuilding efforts when they understand the four phases of turning around a business: 1) Recover, 2) Restore, 3) Re-vision, and 4) Re-invent. By understanding these four phases of an effective turnaround process, you can focus your rebuilding efforts on where your organization falls in this process and then chart a new course forward into thriving. #turnaroundprocess #businessrecovery

U.S. Navy Rear Admiral Grace Murray Hopper, one of the pioneers of computer science, said, "You manage things; you lead people." When it comes to the difference between management and leadership, Admiral Hopper had it exactly right. We can manage processes, priorities, and resources. However, when it comes to people, management is not enough to move people to action. To move people, leadership is required. Leadership is about having a vision of the world that could be, recognizing the potential within people, and then igniting and inspiring people to realize that potential and help make that vision of the world a reality.

It is National Native American Heritage Month - a time to celebrate the cultures, traditions, languages, histories, and contributions of Indigenous peoples of the lands that now constitute the United States, including Indigenous Alaskans and Indigenous Hawaiians. In honor of this heritage month, Logos team members are lifting up some of the Indigenous leaders who inspire them. Today, Sam Allington shares why activist and the first woman Principal Chief of the Cherokee Nation, Wilma Mankiller, inspires him. "Wilma Mankiller was the first woman Principal Chief of the Cherokee Nation. She transformed Native American rights by prioritizing education, healthcare, and community self-sufficiency," Sam shares. "Her leadership and resilience inspired Indigenous women and marginalized communities, leaving a legacy of empowerment and social justice" #NationalNativeAmericanHeritageMonth

It is National Native American Heritage Month. In celebration of this heritage month, members of the Logos team are sharing their recommendations of books, videos, documentaries, movies, or TV shows that are either created by Native American creators and/or are centered around the histories, cultures, or stories of Indigenous peoples. Today, Michael Nathenson shares his recommendation for what to watch this month -- the 1990 film "Dances with Wolves." “’Dances with Wolves’ tells the story of a Union Army lieutenant who befriends the Lakota Sioux while stationed on the frontier," shares Michael. "Through this lens, the film explores themes of cultural exchange, the complexity of Native American life, and the harsh realities of westward expansion, bringing Native American experiences to a wider audience and earning praise for its sensitive portrayal.” #NationalNativeAmericanHeritageMonth

"Minor issues, if left unattended, can snowball into larger and more complicated problems. And the longer it takes to address an issue, the harder it will become to do so effectively." Last month Sam Allington shared how lessons from NASA's Columbia Disaster can help businesses effectively mitigate crises and prevent them from developing into larger ones. Today, Katie Garcia shares why Ardina Revard Moore, a late American fashion designer and Quapaw language speaker and educator inspires her. “In her life, Ardina Revard Moore was passionate about preserving her Quapaw culture and language,” Katie explains. “A teacher by training, she taught American Indian history and genealogy at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M college for many years. In the 1980s, after making her daughter’s traditional clothing for powwows, she decided to become fashion designer. Her fashion company, Buffalo Sun, found great success, as her work was featured in fashion shows and cultural events across the country.” “Moore was also one of the last remaining speakers of the Quapaw language and fought to persevere the language and cultures,” Katie continues. “She developed an educational curriculum specifically around the Quapaw language, organized in two classes that span over an eight week period every year. She also helped to create several annual conferences and events that bring together language speakers from a variety of Indigenous nations. Over the course of her life, she served in several leadership positions with the Quapaw Nation, and in 2011 she was inducted into the Oklahoma Women’s Hall of Fame.” She concludes: “Her work and her legacy is not only inspiring, but will continue to make an impact in the Quapaw Nation for generations to come.” #NationalNativeAmericanHeritageMonth
