Last week was one of my favorite events of the year - the annual California Public Utilities Commission En Banc, where we hear from California utilities about their successes in Supplier Diversity programs and plans to build upon those achievements. It’s also incredibly inspiring to hear from other diverse suppliers sharing their stories of success. I’m especially proud that Logic was nominated for the Best Newcomer Award – a testament to the hard work and dedication of our entire team. Looking forward to continuing to build on this momentum!

We were honored to be part of the BuildOUT California #GoldenPitch event today, where our CEO, Andrew Yoshimura, presented. This fantastic showcase highlighted Logic and other #LGBT owned businesses. Thanks to San Diego Gas & Electric's leadership in bringing together this incredible group!

One of the things I appreciate most about the #SupplierDiversity community is the willingness to share (and be okay with some stealing of ??) great and impactful ideas. Among those amazing ideas is BuildOUT California's #GoldenPitch series. This fantastic concept from Paul Pendergast's toolkit is designed to strategically sync up prime contractors with potential subcontractors in a specific category. Today, we had a standing-room-only audience of prime suppliers who were being introduced to primarily certified #LGBT owned businesses who pitched their services, for potential matchmaking and business opportunities. Big thanks to our VP of Operations Support Jennifer Jett for kicking us off and Lucy Marie Labruzzo for serving as our emcee. I especially want to thank the pitching businesses who showed their stuff and proved that #LGBTbusinesses can add to our value chain! Shoutout to Morgner Construction Management Corp., pipelinelogic, Logic Co, Mitchell Logistics Services LLC, Destination Enterprises, Watearth, Pride Resource Partners and Laner Electric Supply who wowed our primes and procurement staff. San Diego Gas & Electric has a long and impressive history in the #SupplierDiversity space; and continuing to try new ideas and bring folks together in creative ways is how we'll deliver for our customers in the future. I of course must thank our engaging prime supplier representatives who gave the gift of their time and expertise. Last week at BuildOUT California's Founders Day, nearly 1,000 industry professionals from LGBT and allied companies in the AE&C sectors came together to celebrate and recognize those making a global impact! I had the honor of presenting the Built Community Impact Award to my friends Vigor Lam and Daniel Souza, and we celebrated Christina Leia Riley for her great work with Building Equality internationally. This incredible event would not have been possible without the visionary leadership of Paul Pendergast! Paul's unwavering commitment to connecting and creating opportunities for LGBT and small, diverse firms has truly transformed our community. During the event, we also announced our new global brand, BuildIT, reflecting the rapid growth and expanding influence of our organization in such a short amount of time.
