5 years ago today I officially started Loftin Public Affairs. My sister, Stacie, sent me this cup. The fact that after the name she had included Est. 2019 meant that she knew there would be anniversaries to celebrate. That vote of confidence was huge for me as I stared at a leap into the unknown. I have much to be thankful for in the last 5 years. All credit to God first, but I’d be nowhere without the people who believed in me, starting with my wife Dawn and friends who encouraged me to take this step years ago (Lee) as well as the ones who have recommended me to clients (thank you Shawn, Craig, Tricia, Ashley, Meredith, John, Brian Kevin and more). I’m grateful too to the clients who have trusted me with serving as their guide and voice at the Capitol. It has been a true pleasure to work with great organizations like USIC, the GA EMCs, the Natural Gas Association, Apogee, the Sandersville Railroad, Avaya, Pure Storage, the GA Retailers and more. There have been many mistakes, challenges and “learning opportunities” along the way but the growth I’ve experienced as a person by going outside my comfort zone, working with new people and taking on a completely different set of issues has been its own reward. I’m not sure what the next 5 years will look like but I’m looking forward to see where this leads next.
