On Friday, Loewen held our inaugural holiday ornament competition. Rules were, you could only use 4 materials to make your ornament (toothpicks, marshmallows, paper clips and pine cones) in addition to glue and paint. Kyli Whittle knocked it out of the park in 1st place with the toothpick excavator. We had some notable runners up though: Kevin Nosiglia (2nd place) - Loewen Cube Elysa Loewen (3rd Place) - Christmas tree w/ Gifts Noah Torres (4th) - Owl Pieter van Leeuwen, EI. (5th Place) - Holiday wreath Daniel Loewen (Last place) - We are still not sure what he made ?? We also were able to get everyone (and office dogs) in a festive picture! Our team has really grown, and we couldn't be more thankful!

Huge shoutout to Kyli Whittle for passing the PE exam! Such a great accomplishment and milestone. We are so proud to have this newest PE on the Loewen Engineering Team ??

We recently had a chance to walk the Congress Park Tennis Court project that finished up this year. What started as an already challenging project to provide accessibility to the tennis courts on a very steep slope, became even more challenging when we found out the new courts had to be constructed on top of the existing surfaces. We worked very closely with DPR, Flow Design Collaborative, San Engineering LLC to come up with the best solution for accessibility and drainage. During construction ECI Site Construction Management, Inc. did a great job getting it done well.

We want to take a minute to highlight an outstanding member of the Loewen Engineering Team. Kyli Whittle recently was honored with a City of Aurora Programs Volunteer Award! Not only is Kyli a great engineer but an caring and positive member of the community. We're very proud of her!

Last week the Loewen Engineering team had a picnic with our friends at Flow Design Collaborative at Congress Park in Denver which opened this summer and was a collaboration with our two teams. We have a great working relationship with Flow and we will continue to team on future and current projects.

We attended the grand opening of the Dove Valley Regional Park on Friday the 11th, right in our backyard. The whole park looks incredible; kudos to ECI, Designscapes and all their talented subcontractors. We especially enjoyed the ribbon cutting ceremony for the Bike Skills Park since we had the pleasure of being involved in this project!

Many of Loewen Engineering staff had the pleasure of making it up the CASFM 2024 conference last week. As always, its such a great event to connect with other members throughout our industry. This year, Loewen staff represented our team with a presentation by Daniel Loewen and Pieter van Leeuwen, EI. hosting the YMG BBQ in the park! #CASFM2024 #Stormwater #floodplain

Friday was the ribbon cutting ceremony for Congress Park Playground. A wonderful project with some awesome team collaboration, which we will mimic on other projects like this. Designscapes Colorado, Flow Design Collaborative, and Denver Parks and Recreation.
