At the Lunch & Learn on 3/19, we focused on Marketing 101. The graphic I included in this post is a high-level view, or simplification, of Marketing. B2B and B2C will have different approaches, but the methodology is the same. The ultimate goal is to build a referral based business. Attracting new customers and capturing leads, work in tangent together. You can't have an active campaign that has an ineffective destination, or a great destination that doesn't have a mode of driving traffic to it. Nurturing a prospect can be done through different ways like Social Media, or more sophisticated approach with Marketing/Sales Automation tools that has messaging tailored to that specific prospect(s). Like I said this is Marketing that goes beyond getting your business, or brand noticed. I've experienced how organizations can do great with Campaigns, but their destination doesn't convert the leads. Or, when leads come in and they don't "buy" right away, a system is not in place to cultivate those prospects. Yes, this is basic knowledge, but Marketers and Business Owners need to drill in to focus on where they can improve on this process.
