In 2025, Locklear has made a pledge to give back to our community. This past weekend, our team had the privilege of volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House of north central Florida, helping cook and prepare meals for families with children in need. Thanks to all those at the Ronald McDonald house for allowing us to make a difference, and thank you to all the Locklear employees who were able to help volunteer!

Day 1 of the 2024 FREDA Rural Summit: A Remarkable Start! #FREDASummit24 kicked off with an inspiring first day, bringing together economic development leaders from across rural Florida to explore bold ideas and solutions for our communities. The afternoon began with engaging working group sessions designed to tackle some of the most pressing challenges faced by rural areas. The first session, led by Lacy Beasley, President of Retail Strategies, and Jenn Gregory, President of Downtown Strategies, dove into the transformative power of AI in marketing rural communities for tourism and revitalizing small-town downtowns. The discussion was both enlightening and energizing, offering participants actionable insights for their own communities. Later, the conversation turned to unique economic development opportunities for rural Florida. Steven Birnholz, President of the Council of 100 Foundation, and Matt Chesnut, CEcD, Vice President for Business & Economic Development at Space Florida, shared forward-thinking strategies for harnessing Florida’s strengths and driving growth in rural regions. The day ended on a high note with a lively welcome reception where attendees had the chance to network, share ideas, and connect with exhibitors. The energy in the room was electric, setting the tone for an impactful Summit ahead.
