With all the discussions around work-from-home, I have to say—the brokerage world is just different. Everyone is a 1099, building their own business, and the energy in a brokerage office when it's full is something you simply can’t replicate at home. When the phones are firing, deals are happening, and everyone is in GO mode, the camaraderie is infectious, the drive is real, and—most importantly—it’s fun. Some of my best memories in this business come from being in the thick of it, surrounded by brokers pushing each other to be better. Beyond the energy, being in the office means hearing what’s happening in real-time, making connections, and staying plugged into opportunities you might otherwise miss. Some new laws to be aware of for CRE Professionals in CA that kicked off this year. California's Commercial Tenant Protection Act (SB 1103) and Assembly Bill 2347 (AB 2347) went into effect on January 1, 2025. These laws impact how commercial landlords manage properties and commercial tenants' rights. SB 1103 Tenant protections: Provides similar protections to residential tenants for "qualified commercial tenants" (QCTs)  Rent increases: Requires longer notice periods for rent increases  Lease terminations: Requires longer notice periods for lease terminations  Operating costs: Limits operating costs and common area maintenance charges  Translation: Requires translation of leases and amendments into certain languages  Notice of termination: Requires notice for termination of leases of unspecified duration  AB 2347  Unlawful detainer: Increases the time a tenant has to respond to an unlawful detainer complaint from five to 10 days Lockehouse Retail Group, Inc. #retail #CRE
