Even Global Brands End Up Sounding Local ???? Which pronunciation of a familiar brand name has surprised you the most abroad? What works in one language or culture doesn’t always resonate the same way somewhere else. What seems like a universal constant, global car brands, turns into a playful symphony of accents, interpretations, and even entirely different pronunciations. While the laughter in this clip is genuine, the lesson is serious: This simple game highlights a core truth about localization: even the "universal" always has a local touch. ? Pronunciation changes meaning. ? Familiarity changes perception. ? Cultural context changes connection. Our world is increasingly global yet deeply diverse. Getting localization right isn’t just about avoiding missteps; it’s about creating moments of shared understanding and trust. So next time you think, “That brand speaks for itself,” remember this car ride and the laughter.

How do you decide what content to localize? ?????? For some, the answer is simple: localize everything. But for organizations that generate massive amounts of content that’s not always realistic and prioritization becomes essential. With LangOps, Localization can be about more than just translating pages; it can become about connecting teams, tools, and goals into a seamless, strategic framework. In our recent LocDiscussion Expert RoundUp, Edwin Trebels shared his vision which goes beyond just streamlining workflows: it’s about redefining them strategically. Through no-code/low-code connectors like Blackbird and easy platform integrations from software providers like Crowdin that localization managers are finding new ways to prioritize critical content. In the future knowledge graphs will further integrate data points, and ensure AI delivers high-quality results. This isn’t just tech talk: it’s a call for a conceptual re-organization, where data orchestration replaces massive silos and localization becomes a truly dynamic, strategic process. Imagine a world where CMS and TMS systems talk seamlessly to each other, where user behavior data triggers localization workflows, and where every piece of content is treated with the importance it deserves. That’s the future in which LangOps transforms localization from a step in the process to the framework that holds it all together. Watch Edwin break it down in this clip from our session. How are you seeing teams, tools, and goals come together in your localization strategy? Can data orchestration unlock your international content’s true potential? It’s all we are talking about recently at the LangOps Institute.

If Multilingual Content is to become “Hyper-Personalized” and “Real-Time”, we will need LangOps to turn Localization dynamic as well! And that’s why translation can’t stay stuck in time… In our recent LocDiscussion Jochen Hummel posed a fascinating challenge to the localization industry: Why do we continue to work with static pieces of text, frozen like Babylonian Clay Tablets? Imagine a future where content isn’t pre-written for an assumed audience but dynamically created in real-time—adapting to a user’s query, preferences, knowledge level, and language. This shift would redefine how we think about multilingual workflows. What does this mean for the translation industry ? ? Static to Dynamic: Translation workflows would move beyond adapting pre-written content to co-creating contextually relevant information on demand. ? Personalized at Scale: AI-driven systems would generate hyper-customized messages, requiring translation engines to respond in real-time with precision and cultural nuance. ? Language Decisions Evolve: Organizations would no longer ask, “Which languages do we translate into?” but rather, “How do we ensure this capability for all potential users?” Such a transformation will require not just advancements in AI but a new mindset for localization teams—one that sees translation as a living, adaptive process rather than a fixed task. Check out this thought-provoking clip from Jochen’s segment on how this future could unfold. What do you think—are we ready to leave behind the clay tablets and embrace a LangOps world of dynamic multilingual content? I am most excited about Arthur W.’s LangOps Institute announcement at the LT Innovate conference earlier this week in Vienna! Stay tuned for more outstanding news on that to come shortly! Thank you again Crowdin for sponsoring generously!

Director of LangOps @ Philadelphia Church of God | Director of Strategic Partnerships @ LangOps Institute

"A common challenge faced by organizations that produce large volumes of content in multiple languages is content prioritization. Edwin Trebels, Director of LangOps at the Philadelphia Church of God, highlighted what he called the 'priority paradox' the issue that arises when everything is treated as a priority, ultimately making nothing a priority. Organizations that handle millions of words each year have a need for a clear system to distinguish high-value content from the rest." "Edwin suggested a solution grounded in intelligent automation, a concept that combines data-driven insights with automated systems. By leveraging heat mapping and Google Analytics to understand user behavior and orchestrate multilingual workflows, he believes localization can shift from a manual, reactive process to a more streamlined, data-informed one. “Hyper-automated prioritization is the key. Gartner already has a term for this: ‘intelligent automation,’ and it’s the direction we need to pursue to harness analytics for real, actionable content strategy.” "...echoed the importance of knowledge graphs, noting their potential for improving workflow transparency and enabling real-time decision-making in content prioritization. “Knowledge graphs can serve as a centralized knowledge hub, allowing for domain-specific decisions that automate and refine workflows based on content usage, This, in turn, can make localization efforts more efficient, reducing costs and minimizing redundant work.” "...also envisioned a fully integrated system that combines user behavior data, CMS, and TMS tools. “Having a transparent, orchestrated data pipeline would allow multiple departments to view, analyze, and interact with the same content,” he said. “This level of integration could enable both automated and human-triggered decisions based on a holistic view of content performance across various channels.” "...emphasized the importance of connecting disparate data sources through low-code/no-code connectors, knowledge graphs, and AI-powered tools to ensure a seamless, transparent content workflow. He highlighted the “ontological approach” as a way to organize and connect data across roles and departments, predicting that this approach could revolutionize localization by providing structure and insight into multilingual strategies." "...in particular, championed the potential of connectors and low-code solutions, such as those offered by Blackbird.io and Crowdin, to enable seamless integration of diverse tools. Crowdin’s extensive range of over 600 integrations, for instance, sets it apart as a platform that not only meets localization needs but adapts to the unique demands of each client’s workflow." Thanks for writing up your takeaways, Stefan Huyghe!?Also, if I may add: automated quality prediction is another step for more advanced intelligent automation, preferably of the private, custom kind. #langops #intelligentautomation #localization #cms #tms #analytics #knowledgegraphs

Imagine if your culture, along with the knowledge and stories, were lost. Not because they were unwanted, but simply because technology does not speak your language. For speakers of low-resourced languages, this is not just hypothetical; it’s a daily reality. Today, young generations in countries where their family’s first language is not taught in school or is not present in the digital world, gradually lose that language in favor of dominant ones. In my session, we will discuss how we can help reverse this trend by empowering low-resourced languages with AI and NLP. To register: https://lnkd.in/gJdXy2A8 #AITranslation2024
