Passkeys is a new technology that allows you to use your credentials on your personal devices, like your PIN on your computer or Face-ID on your iPhone, to log into websites without creating and saving passwords. Larger companies like Apple, Google and Microsoft have been rolling out the technology across their services this summer, and expect it to become available on more services soon. Many of the passwords in this list have been leaked before, but the fact that they have been compiled into one massive list is new. This is why you should NEVER use the same password in more than one place, and change your passwords on a regular basis. We highly recommend using some sort of password manager to make it easier.

If you own a Samsung smartphone,make sure to run the latest system software update as soon as it's available. It includes security updates for a problem so severe that it provoked a government warning on Google Pixel devices.

******** PHISHING ALERT ******** If you receive an email like this one claiming to be from Microsoft, do NOT open the link in your browser. This message is actually a well-designed phishing message attempting to collect the password for your Microsoft account. Delete the message and report it to your Microsoft 365 administrator. If you click on the "Review recent activity" button, you'll end up on a page that looks like a Microsoft 365 login. It's actually a capture form set up by hackers. If you were to enter your username and password, you'd be giving your password to the hackers. Note that the email did not come from a Microsoft domain. Also, the link in the button goes to the notificationservice dot org domain as well. If you've fallen victim to this scam, please change your Microsoft password immediately and then make sure multi-factor authentication and/or passkeys is enabled on your account.
