???At Local Bounti, we're proud to share our progress in diverting waste through strong local partnerships! In 2023, we achieved an impressive 75% landfill diversion rate, far surpassing our initial goal of 50% by 2024. Our success is a team effort, from our dedicated sustainability team to our passionate employees across all levels. We've built a wide network of regional partnerships to reduce waste and our carbon footprint. Surplus production is donated to community organizations, while organic waste is composted or turned into animal feed, and we're exploring innovative solutions like anaerobic digesters. Our journey in sustainability is ongoing and a collaborative effort. ?? We are thrilled to unveil our 2023 Sustainability Report! ?? We have set ambitious climate targets, like producing carbon-neutral leafy greens by 2030 and achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. Each year, we make progress, and this year was no exception. Here are some of the highlights: ?? In 2023, we ramped up construction on two state-of-the-art facilities featuring our patented Stack & Flow Technology?. Today, both facilities are fully operational, with the Texas facility capable of running entirely on electric energy and the Washington facility primarily using carbon-free electricity. ?? With an investment in high-quality packaging, we've seen early indicators that we have been able to reduce our food waste and shrink to less than 10%. ?? Our packaging uses 60-80% reused plastic, and we are proud members of the Sustainable Packaging Coalition (SPC). ?? Through our Share the Bounti? program, we have donated 115,000 pounds of produce to 18 different food banks. ?? We achieved an impressive 75% landfill diversion rate in 2023, surpassing our goal of 50% by 2024. ?? Local Bounti engaged with our suppliers to enhance the visibility of our code of conduct which ensures a more ethical and sustainable sourcing of our supplied materials. ?? We empowered our employees in their efforts and arranged group activities to support Earth Day and other community events. ?? We increased our paid leave of absence based on FMLA qualifications, which includes parental leave and leave due to a serious health condition. ?? Today marks a significant milestone for Local Bounti’s partnership with Sam's Club! We’re excited to share the news that we’ve expanded distribution with Sam's Club for our leafy greens production with service commencing from our recently opened CEA facility in Mount Pleasant, Texas.?We are now fulfilling shipments to six of Sam's regional distribution centers from two of our facilities, including Byron, Georgia. We have worked tirelessly to optimize our operations and have applied these learnings to our sites in Texas and Washington, both of which are demonstrating the advantages we identified when setting out to leverage our patented Stack & Flow Technology? at these purpose-built facilities.
