Lobby Capital’s 4th Anniversary! Four years ago we announced the launch of Lobby Capital. After 20 years at August Capital, my partner Eric and I sat down and asked ourselves “if we were to start a venture firm today, what would it look like?” One thing was for certain, we wanted to build it with Buddy Arnheim. The three of us spent the better part of a year devising the dream firm and what emerged was Lobby Capital. We are now four years into that journey and I am more certain than ever of the choices we made. Since minute one, Lobby Capital has been a small, focused, early-stage venture firm, specializing in the greatest business known to tech — software! (AI Infrastructure, Enterprise SaaS, Fintech,and Deeptech…) We aren’t stock pickers. We’re team members. We partner with amazing entrepreneur. And work tirelessly with them from the day we invest until the day they declare victory (or, sometimes, the day they declare defeat). We think that venture capital is a service business. We are here to help. Over the course of my venture career, I have sat on some fifty boards. I have brought perspective, advice, customers, executives, and, of course, capital. And while money is fungible — venture capitalists are not. At Lobby, we take seriously the job of being a venture capitalist. We take seriously the job of being a board member. We take seriously the job of helping make our portfolio companies successful. Over the last four years we’ve backed some amazing entrepreneurs: folks keeping America safer (Hidden Level Inc.), solving last mile delivery (Better Trucks), making search better (Vantage Discovery), optimizing software teams (Faros AI), helping kids read (Sprout Labs), teaching robots to see (Apera AI), and so much more. And as we race into our fifth year, we do so with a powerful new voice around the table. Collin Wallace joined us about a year ago and has already been a force multiplier. We could not be more excited about partnering with Collin. Starting a new venture capital firm is for sure a team sport. Thanks to my fantastic partners, Eric, Buddy, and Collin.
