Since #USLNG shipments began in early 2016, LNG Allies has published a series of charts based on official #LNG export data released monthly by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). Thanks to US-India Strategic Partnership Forum and USIBC - US India Business Council for a very fruitful roundtable discussion on margins of Gastech 2024. Hardeep Singh Puri, Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India Official Embassy of India said… India plans to increase its use of #naturalgas from 8% to 15% and plans to incentivize foreign investment to help India explore and produce its own #natgas. Minister Puri is pushing to include #natgas in the GST to facilitate more use of this energy source. India spends $20 billion a year on US energy. “We value the relationship,” Puri said.

This morning, the U.S. Senate Committee on Energy & Natural Resources led by Senators Joe Manchin of West Virginia and John Barrasso of Wyoming passed the Energy Permitting Reform Act of 2024. The bill now goes to the Senate floor. LNG Allies President and CEO Fred H. Hutchison lauded the bipartisan bill which eliminates unnecessary bureaucratic hurdles to much needed energy infrastructure. See Fred Hutchison's full statement here:

Fred H. Hutchison to POTEN & PARTNERS CERAWeek: The Biden administration "pause" on #USLNG permits has rattled our international allies. Hutchison said if the pause is not lifted soon, the world could be short on #LNG by 2028 and years after. “We went from being an importing country to the world’s largest exporter of LNG in 8 years,” LNG President and CEO Fred Hutchison said at #CERAWeek in Houston this month. The White House pause on new US LNG applications is “unwarranted, probably illegal and unnecessary." U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has initiated studies on the impact of #USLNG exports four times--2012, 2015, 2018, and 2024. Three have shown US LNG exports do not affect producers' ability to meet domestic demand or raise domestic #naturalgas prices Some outstanding questions: Is DOE conducting a study or studies? Which national labs will conduct the analysis? How long could it take? "Several months, if not longer" Hutchison said. After DOE releases its findings, there will be a 60-day comment period after which the Energy Department will review the comments and make a decision. “It’s at least this time next year before this is all resolved,” Hutchison said.
