Introducing Spencer Okoronkwo! He is a junior from Minneapolis, MN, and on track to graduate in 2026 with a major in Marketing. This semester, he is gaining hands-on experience as a Communications, Marketing, & PR Intern at The Honest Company, where he contributes to brand messaging, media relations, and strategic marketing initiatives. Spencer utilized career coaching and drop-in advising at CPD to refine his application materials and prepare for the role. His advice for fellow students: “Persistence is key. Sending those emails and building connections can be the difference between landing a role or missing out. Also, take the time to develop relationships with your professors – they're often willing to help and can be a great resource for expanding your network!” #LMUCareers #StudentSpotlight

Get to know Rachel McDonald! This outstanding junior from Las Vegas, NV, is pursuing a double major in Finance & Information Systems and Business Analytics. She currently supports Employer Relations at CPD and recently began working at an exciting internship at Warner Music Group as an Emerging Talent Associate with a focus on Finance. In this role, Rae gained hands-on experience in financial analysis, strategic planning, and industry insights within the entertainment sector. Her advice for fellow students: “Seek to become an expert in the industry you want to enter. Listen to podcasts, read, and conduct informational interviews with professionals in your dream career.” Rae also recommends leveraging LMU’s alumni network: “Connecting with alumni is a great way to find mentors who can help you navigate and maximize your undergraduate experience. Talk to professors for introductions or utilize The Pride!” #LMUCareers #StudentSpotlight

Greetings from Washington, DC! The Career and Professional Development team is excited to be here with 21 enthusiastic students for this spring's Career Trek. We have had the incredible opportunity to visit Partnership for Public Service, Sierra Club, Peace Corps, and Smithsonian Institution, and even meet Congressman Ted Lieu! This trip has been truly impactful, allowing us to hear insights from alumni and professionals in government, policy, and law. Here's to building connections and expanding our horizons!
