Join Entrepreneurship Society as we welcome co-founder and CEO of GEANCO Foundation, Afam Onyema. GEANCO is a foundation created to save and transform the lives of the poor and vulnerable in Africa. They help provide medical supplies/medical procedures, scholarships and resources for children and families all over Nigeria. Afam received his bachelor's from Harvard, graduated from Stanford Law School and runs the award-winning GEANCO Foundation. His work has led him to partnerships with notable figures such as Andrew Garfield, Jimmy Kimmel, Chris Rock, Benedict Cumberbatch and more! This Monday's meeting will have a special guest speaker event filled with games and giveaways. Our guest speaker, LMU alumni Anya Ozmen, will discuss her journey creating Redvest, a top 30-ranked gamified Finance App helping hundreds of thousands of GenZs learn investing. As a two-time founder and Techstars alums, she will break down her experiences with fundraising, accelerators, and founding the AI development company Redko, which worked with over 30 companies. Our first speaker, Massimo Lesti, CSW, a top recruiter from RNDC (Republic National Distributing Company), will speak about successful career planning, starting with internships available for students.?We will then transition to Real Estate Society President Chris Rudolph, who will deliver a speech he gave in front of CSU Northridge titled “Massive Action: How to Make Life a Winning Game.” Chris is a passionate senior accounting major and incoming tax consultant intern at Deloitte who is excited to share the keys to long-term financial stability for the next generation of college graduates.?The meeting will be from 5-6:30 in Hilton 500. Happy 2024 Everyone! Thank you all for a fantastic first semester, and we’re excited to see you all back on campus next week! The changing of the year is a natural time for reflection, and so here are some of our best moments from last semester: 1. LA Student Business Expo: (Pictured in slides 1-4) This event was hosted for 34 student vendors from across LA to have a physical place to showcase and sell their work alongside other student businesses. We got great feedback from our vendors and were happy with its impact on LMU entrepreneurship. 2. We had a fantastic speaker series featuring excellent speakers, beginning with the one and only Jason Sharpe, founder of?@lmu.es?and?@opsclinic. We also were blessed with the presence of Vamsi Kumar Kotla of?@remo.homes?(sustainable modular housing), Lee Zeidman, president of?@cryptocomarena, and most recently Emmy winning producer and founder of Sneakertopia, Steve Harris. Thank you to everyone else who spoke for our society! 3. We are hosting developmental workshops for interested people to develop ideation skills, Venture Capital skills, and many, many more!
