'Tis the season...for triggers! Triggers don't heal on their own! Today's #TuesdayTip is all about how to better understand triggers. While it might be too late to heal before this Thanksgiving, identifying them and being aware will help. What is a trigger? A trigger is when an incident happens and all of a sudden you feel emotionally hijacked. Your listening completely shuts down. You're overwhelmed. Why? Triggers are wounds that are in your subconscious. No amount of time or wishing away will heal triggers. We have to find someone who can help us identify and work through them. What to do in the moment? Exit stage left! Remove yourself from the situation to calm down. The good news? Triggers can be healed! Once you work through them, you’ll be better equipped to navigate challenging moments and enjoy more fulfilling family events and connections.

Welcome Back #OfficeHours Coach Karmen Dadourian on Tackling Conflict Avoiding conflict may feel easier in the moment—no one wants to be the “bad guy,” offend anyone, or cause ill feelings. But in reality, avoiding conflict often leads to the very outcomes we hope to avoid. It can result in passive-aggressive behavior, resentment, and a lack of transparency and clarity. Here’s are tips for healthy conflict resolution: 1. Have Courage 2. Keep an Open Mind 3. Ask Questions 4. Focus on the Issue, Not the Person By following these tips, you can create an environment of transparency, build stronger relationships, and foster better teamwork.

A huge shoutout to the UVA Women's Club Lacrosse team—thank you for the amazing gear! We absolutely love it, almost as much as we loved working with all of you. It’s been incredible to coach and watch you grow, and we can’t wait to see you dominate this spring. Go Hoos!

"I know where all the dead bodies are buried" has been known to be a badge of honor in the workplace. But is it? The modern work environment is evolving and people have had to become more adaptable than ever before—it doesn't really matter where the bodies are buried anymore! This once upon a time advantage, may actually be holding your business back from moving forward. We need to be constantly rethinking our business and how we approach things. Today's #TuesdayTip is to reframe this way of thinking—let go of the past and focus on forward-thinking solutions to drive success.

DiSC Seminars are a game-changer for teams! Before the seminar, we have every team member take the DiSC assessment and an anonymous survey. We share the results via customized reports and personalized analyzation—from both an individual and team perspective—to help participants understand themselves and each other. This lays a solid foundation for the growth of your team. Last week, I worked with the team at Georgetown CEW. Can't wait to see the momentum they build from this impactful day! Reach out to learn more about the DiSC seminar for your team! [email protected]

There's a huge shift in the workplace of people chasing their own dreams instead of someone else's. While that sounds amazing, it doesn't come without challenges. You need to have courage, versatility, adaptability, and resiliency.?? Check out Liz's quick masterclass on solopreneurship on?WCBS | CBS New York with?Mary Calvi.?? How do you?make the shift from employee to solopreneur??? 1. Think about the costs of starting the business (your kitchen table doesn't count as the office!)?? 2. What is your fee structure?? ?3. What do your clients look like??? 4. Do you have a cushion while getting started??? As soon as you start your own business, your structure is gone. Break your business into 3 categories—the doing of the business, the admin, and the business development. Time management is going to be key here—create false deadlines for yourself so you keep the momentum?going.?? Most importantly, get yourself a coach to help guide you with support, build strategy with and bounce ideas off of, and not get in your own way.?
