LATI intentionally provides space and education for and regarding Black girls/Emerging Adults and Black nonbinary youth.
关于我们
Founded in December 2022 by Dr. Tyffani Monford Dent, a licensed psychologist and her GenZ daughters, Mia & Zoe, LATI was created to meet the needs of Black Girls/Emerging Adults, and Black nonbinary youth (BGEANY). Noticing that similar services are primarily being offered on the east and west coast, LATI primarily focuses on those within the Midwest with a plan to eventually expand to the Southeast. The co-founders recognized that while there are a significant number of programs for Black girls that offer mentoring and etiquette (and or are based within the age of notion of respectability there was a dearth of organizations focused on people who looked like them and required services recognizing their intersectional identities. Yet, they did not want to begin another mentoring program as their goal was to have a larger, more systemic impact on the lives of Black Girls/Emerging Adults, and Black nonbinary youth.

Our Co-Founder Zoe was able to represent us in organizing/developing plan to continue to address #Pushout of Black girls in school. Thank you G4GC and Monique Couvson, Ed.D. for providing space and the opportunity to begin collaboration with other Black girl social justice/advocacy organizations
