??Did you know: A common misconception is that compostable and biodegradable are the same thing! Compostable items break down into non-toxic components, while biodegradable items may leave behind harmful residues. If you compost at home, be sure to avoid putting biodegradable plastics, synthetic fibers, or chemically treated items in your compost. Disposing of these items in your regular trash or via special programs is instead the best place for these!

Should you really clean out a trash bin that's only going to…house more trash? It sounds counterintuitive, but yes! We recommend hosing out your bin every month, ideally with soap. ?? Keeping your bins free of built-up food and waste debris will keep smells and bugs at bay. Good for your home, good for our communities.
