  • ?? It's time to start planning for our 2025 landscape contest! This is one of our favorite #ConservationPrograms because we love to see the community get creative and transform their yards. You don't have to re-landscape your whole yard, either. The #Contest outlines that you must develop a minimum of 200 square feet. If your landscape is among the top three, you'll win: First Place - $250 prepaid credit card or bill credit Second Place - $125 bill credit Third Place - $75 bill credit Learn more about the requirements at https://lnkd.in/g2tDpK86.

  • ?? New this summer: Residential customers now have an annual #WaterAllotment to keep in mind. For standard 5/8" residential taps, that allotment is 228,000 gallons— and most customers stay within this amount. But here’s the important part: if you exceed your allotment, there’s a $8 charge per 1,000 gallons used over the limit for the rest of the year. Want to avoid extra charges? The EyeOnWater website and mobile app are great tools to monitor your usage in daily, weekly, monthly and annually. Set up your free EyeOnWater account at https://lnkd.in/grCZAjVs. To learn more about rates and allotment surcharges, visit https://lnkd.in/gUbt4wfq and find the linked PDFs for details.

  • Just like your car, your sprinklers need an occasional check-up! If you shut your system down last fall (and we hope you did!) knowing it could use a little attention this spring, now is the time to get on the interest list for a FREE Slow the Flow sprinkler evaluation from Resource Central. These 75-minute evaluations could save you thousands of gallons of water this summer. Get on the interest list now so you can start saving money and water immediately when the irrigation season starts. Get on the list at https://lnkd.in/ebcX_yyZ.

  • ?? With changes to rates this year, it's important for our customers to know their #WaterAllotment. Water allotments are determined by your tap size and type, which was purchased when your home or business was built. The majority of our customers have a standard residential 5/8" tap which comes with an allotment of 228,000 gallons to use annually. Most of our customers DO NOT go over their allotment. However, this year we've implemented a new surcharge for our standard residential 5/8" tap customers who go over their allotment. For standard residential taps, this surcharge is $8 per 1,000 gallons used over 228,000 annually. To learn more about your allotment, check your bill and read more at https://lnkd.in/gUbt4wfq.

  • Little Thompson Water District is excited to announce a new #WaterConservation program for our customers to participate in: Garden In A Box from Resource Central! Tackle that problem area in your yard once and for all by planting a beautiful, curated Garden In A Box this spring. Starting at $127, these kits are colorful and affordable! Plus, they're professionally designed to thrive in Colorado's climate while reducing #WaterUse. Customers save up to 7,000 gallons over the garden's life compared to traditional grass. These kits sell out quickly, so sign up for the interest list to make sure you get one (or two!). Sign up at https://lnkd.in/g2tDpK86.

  • As you have likely heard, our 2025 #Rates have increased with a roughly 15% increase to base rates and tiered rates. The rate increase is in response to rising costs of energy, maintenance and labor costs. While we know a rate increase is never ideal, it's essential for us to continue to carry out our mission of providing safe, reliable and good-tasting water for a fair price. As a special district, every dollar goes directly back into maintaining and operating the water system in order to supply water to our customers including water treatment, maintenance and repairs, infrastructure replacement and operation costs. If you have questions about rates, please call us at (970) 532-2096 or get in touch through the contact form on our website at https://lnkd.in/gtgMjXfT

  • Ever wonder what your bill is paying for? In a special district like ours, every dollar goes directly back into maintaining and operating the #WaterSystem that supplies safe, reliable and good-tasting water for a fair price. Unlike municipalities, which may use property taxes or water bill revenue for other projects or have a general fund from which they can gain extra resources, our special district is singularly focused on water. This means your payments are used exclusively for: - Water Treatment - Maintenance and Repairs - Operational Costs If you have questions about your bill, please reach out to us at (970) 532-2096 or visit https://lnkd.in/gQeBACyB.

  • ?? Water Shortage Contingency Action Plan Update: At LTWD, we follow our Water Shortage Contingency Action Plan to ensure that we can store up to five years of #WaterSupply in case of a prolonged drought. To do this, we ask our customers to observe the current “Action Level,” which determines how each of us uses water. Throughout 2024, we were able to stay at Status Green (Watch), which means very few restrictions on water use. Because #WaterUsage is much lower during the winter, we will remain at Status Green throughout the winter and early spring. In April, Northern Water releases the C-BT quota, one of our primary raw water sources. We will update the Action Level when we know the quota and how much water we can expect from them.

  • ?? Do you know your water allotment? In 2025, 5/8" standard residential customers will be charged a surcharge of $8 per 1,000 gallons for exceeding their annual allotment. The good news is that a residential standard tap has an allotment of 228,000 gallons annually. Most of our customers do not go over their allotment! This surcharge is designed to have customers pay for their excessive #WaterUse beyond their allotted amount since new raw water may need to be purchased when customers regularly use beyond their allotted amount. #HelpfulTips for staying below your allotted water amount: - Review your bill to find your allotment. For conservation urban tap customers, the allotment is 114,000 gallons annually, for conservation +, the allotment is 180,000 gallons annually and as we mentioned it's 228,000 annually for standard residential taps. - Keep on eye on your usage with the EyeOnWater website and mobile app. EyeOnWater provides hourly, daily, monthly and annual water usage so you can change your habits if you want to avoid surcharges for overuse.
