We are pleased to welcome three new interns for the fall semester. Gwenyth Dymek (University of Pittsburgh), Maya Walker (Chatham University), and Jayda Benson (Duquesne University) will be supporting Literacy Pittsburgh with a variety of projects, including serving as English Language Learning (ELL) and Citizenship classroom aides, working on a project to update tutor lesson plans, and putting together the alumni newsletter and the current class-based ELL student newsletter.

At our VCP Celebration last month we recognized some long-time and diligent volunteers who helped along the way. Certificates were presented and gifts of appreciation were given to the 10 longest-running volunteers and the 10 volunteers with the most tutoring hours last program year. Thank you to all the wonderful tutors who make our program a success!
