We are pleased to announce that The Liberian Registry and Lloyd's Register presented HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering with an Approval in Principle (AiP) for its ammonia cargo operation system and ammonia fuel supply, which can be used in conjunction with LPG. We are thrilled to announce that LISCR’s Sofiana Kontouri, who began her studies this September at the World Maritime University, has been elected President of the Student Council! Sofiana is the proud recipient of the Yoram Cohen Scholarship, an award created in honor of our late founder. Sofiana states, “I am incredibly grateful to LISCR for this opportunity, their support has opened doors to pursue my passion for the maritime industry at WMU. My journey with LISCR over the past decade has shaped me as a leader, giving me the tools and experiences I need to take on this role as President of the Student Council. I look forward to bringing the same dedication and commitment to this position as I have throughout my career, and I am excited to represent my peers as we work toward the future of maritime.” As President of the Student Council, Sofiana will be responsible for representing her peers, resolving student issues, organizing events, and being the voice of the student body at WMU’s Executive Board and Board of Governors meetings. This is a significant achievement, and we are honored to support Sofiana on this journey as she works toward earning her maritime master’s degree.
