Taking it back to our Leveraging Real Estate (LRE) culmination event! It was a great night celebrating the 16 small business owners from South LA, the Crenshaw District, and the Goodyear Tract who completed the program and equipped themselves to become commercial property owners! This event reminded us of our mission in South LA—to ensure that the small businesses who have built their legacies here can own property and fully participate in wealth creation. It was an honor to represent LISC LA at the 18th Annual LABC Sustainability Summit, supporting the leadership of Chair Bob Graziano (JPMorganChase) as we work collaboratively on sustainability goals that positively impact economic development and Low-to-Moderate Income (LMI) businesses and communities across Los Angeles County. We had the pleasure of hearing from Senator Alex Padilla as well as connecting with so many inspiring leaders, including Phoebe Wang, (Amazon Climate Pledge Fund), Joy Langford (ARCHES H2), Thomas Wong (Mayor, City of Monterey Park), Ross Starrh (Valta Energy), Joseph S. Avila (Blue Laser Fusion), Stella Ursua (GRID Alternatives), Ryan Robinson (University of Southern California Executive Director, Principal Gifts, Sustainability), Mick Dalrymple, LEED Fellow (Chief Sustainability Officer, USC), and Rita Kampalath (Chief Sustainability Officer, Los Angeles County). Specializing in roofing, waterproofing, wall panel, and architectural sheet metal, AME has been growing steadily. With support from Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) and LISC LA's ABC program, funded by Wells Fargo, AME recently expanded by purchasing new equipment and a larger headquarters—doubling their warehouse space and improving access to project sites. ???
