The third video in our Transforming the Gift of Sight series highlight distribution. Proper preparation and protective measures must be utilized to ensure the gift of sight will remain surgically viable through transit to a surgeon. We work hard to preserve the legacy of the donor and ensure every cornea has the best chance possible to help enhance the life of a recipient. #LEBWCO #DonateSight

The second video in our Transforming the Gift of Sight series focuses on processing. Processing ocular grafts is the next step of the journey for the gift of sight, where a cornea is cut to reflect a surgeon’s specifications to help cure a corneally blind patient. #DonateSight #LEBWCO

Today we kick off our four-part video series titled Transforming the Gift of Sight. In this series, we will look at the journey an ocular graft takes at LEBWCO to transform it into the gift of sight, being able to heal those who are need of a corneal transplant. For our first video, we are looking at tissue evaluation! Evaluation is a critical step for the gift of sight as it is utilized to make sure that grafts are suitable for transplant through a variety of different factors. Even when a cornea is unable to meet surgical transplant standards, it can still be utilized for research, where it goes to help advance sight restoration through new technologies.?Donating corneas for research has the potential to help countless more lives receive enhanced vision through the gift of sight. #LEBWCO #DonateSight
