Bellevue mom Marlene Thies, whose daughter Madison Thies was diagnosed with cerebral palsy, has started a non-profit called Mad Kicks. The organization provides free shoes and socks to patients at the Perlman Center, a facility that provides therapy to children with cerebral palsy before they enter kindergarten. Mad Kicks was born out of Thies's observation of other parents' struggles and her own experience with the lack of accessible options for children with cerebral palsy. The shoes provided by Mad Kicks are designed to fit over leg braces, which are a common necessity for children with cerebral palsy. https://lnkd.in/gruU7mV9
