It's not often that our work receives a public acknowledgement, so the Link?Ability team (Lynnaire Johnston, Cher Forgeson and Gillian Moore) thank Cristean Monreal, director running The Symphony Centre project in Auckland, for this post. Managing a LinkedIn company page can be a complex task as there are often multiple stakeholders but this one had more than most because of the size of the project. But with the guidance of Jack Bourke, our cheerleader within RCP, we've navigated the various challenges, turning them into opportunities wherever possible. The Symphony Centre will be a huge asset to all of Auckland Tāmaki Makaurau located as it is in the Aotea Arts Quarter. It will be an architectural wonder as it is a landmark project, combining transport, retail, hospitality, residential and commercial opportunities. If you haven't yet heard of it, you can find out more here: The Symphony Centre. And if you have a company page that needs professional attention, please do get in touch.
Over the past 14 months, Lynnaire Johnston and the Link?Ability team have built The Symphony Centre LinkedIn page into a highly engaging platform through consistent, well-supported posts. The page has grown rapidly, helping RCP's Development Management team showcase progress and gain support from key organisations and stakeholders. Jack Bourke has overseen the page’s success, ensuring content aligns with our marketing strategy. Beyond this, Lynnaire has updated senior team members' profiles, and led a LinkedIn workshop for our team. She has delivered all of this while adapting to ongoing changes and evolving needs. Her support throughout this time has been greatly valued.

2025 New features and changes on LinkedIn – edition 3 ? Rumours of an imminent major change to LinkedIn are getting louder, backed by the near-collapse last week of the SSI (Social Selling Index) system, now restored. ? While glitches are common on the platform, their frequency and severity along with the plummet in number of new features in the past month indicate that something is up. ? There are different theories as to what that ‘something’ is but do not be surprised to wake up one morning soon and find massive change has occurred overnight. ? In the meantime, there are three new features we’ve been alerted to by Kevin D. Turner:? ? ?? New engagement metric The Comments button underneath our posts shows the total number of comments added, and includes any replies. This new metric tells us the number of Originating comments, i.e. the comments without the replies. We could also describe this as unique comments as it is a good indicator of the number of different people commenting, assuming people only comment once. To access this new metric tap on [xx comments] below the post to see the number of originating comments. ? ?? Display fonts blocked from profile Headlines Decorative fonts cannot be read by screen-readers and are unable to be indexed so if you have these in your headline (AND in your name field, in my opinion) you should remove them. They can no longer be added to headlines but it’s unclear if they have been removed from profiles which already have them. ? ?? Easier way to edit scheduled posts A line has been added to the top of scheduled posts, displaying the ‘Posting date and time’ along with an edit button. I’m not convinced that scheduling posts doesn’t result in lower reach, although that could be because we’re often not around when the post goes live and therefore don’t respond to comments or engage on others’ posts. ? ?????????? ? Don't know me? I'm Lynnaire Johnston: a LinkedIn specialist who shares tips and ideas to help you get best results for your time here. ? Learn how to leverage LinkedIn? to achieve your professional goals at linkability[.]biz and follow our page Link?Ability, for #linkedintips and #linkedinforbusiness ideas. ? Got something to add? ?? COMMENT ?? Would others find it useful? ?? REPOST ?? Want to see more like this? ?? ?? ?? Plan to refer back to this? ?? SAVE ?? Think I know my stuff? ?? ENDORSE ?? ? ?????? Tip of the day –?Using 3rd party tools that violate LinkedIn's user agreement can get you banned and this includes most Chrome extensions able to access your LinkedIn.

Getting Your LinkedIn Videos Seen: A New Strategy? Are your LinkedIn videos getting the visibility they deserve? If you’re finding that your content isn’t surfacing in the new standalone video feed, you’re not alone. But what if posting videos on your company page could change that? It might seem counterintuitive – after all, personal profiles typically see more engagement. But early signs suggest that company page videos could be getting better placement in LinkedIn’s evolving video landscape. Link?Ability's Lynnaire Johnston is putting this theory to the test, and this video is a demonstration of that approach. Will it work? We’ll see. But if you’re struggling to get your videos noticed, it might be worth trying. Check out the video and let us know: Have you seen a difference in visibility between personal and company page videos? ?????????? In the past week we’ve seen a slew of reported new features for publishing videos on LinkedIn. Here’s a summary with examples below. ? NEW VIDEO FEATURES ?? Video feed available on desktop Just as when the standalone video feed first came to the app, access on desktop/web is via a ‘Videos for you’ section in the feed. Tap into any video to open the feed and scroll for more. Experience indicates those seen there are less likely to be from our connections. ? ?? Full-screen vertical video display format Like images, videos now take up the full width of the feed whether in vertical or horizontal format. ? ?? Larger video display in the mobile app Here too, videos take up the entire screen and whether this is a good thing will depend on your preferences. ? ?? More prominent follow option in full-screen video player In theory this is an excellent idea. ? ?? FINALLY! New video analytics For the longest time we’ve not had much data on our videos apart from what’s available on all posts. Now, we can also see video views, and total as well as average watch time. This last metric is likely to be the most important to improve. ?? Mini-profile overview, with video uploads highlighted When you tap on a video creator’s profile image or name in the video feed it gives instant access to a wealth of information including a summary of their most recent videos. This might be a great way to attract higher visibility. ? ?? More videos in search results LinkedIn will deliver more videos in our search results and most likely they’ll display ahead of other content, depending on your search query. VIDEO FEATURES YOU MAY NOT KNOW ABOUT ? ?? Native live video in iOS First reported back in October as a test on iOS devices, this may may now be a little more widely available although still not on Android. This is a fast and easy way to publish a video post but doesn’t allow you to add a thumbnail, edit the beginning and end, or add your own captions. But for publishing on the go, this is genius. ? ?? Notifications of videos We’re now seeing in our Notifications when videos are published. The curiosity or intrigue factor of this has merit and they will be eye-catching to many. Conversely, if you don’t like watching videos, you can see what to avoid. The notification shows two lines from the text and a tiny thumbnail. ? ?????????? ? ?????? Tip of the day – If you’re not already doing video for LinkedIn, you need to start NOW! Seriously. ?

Is it the TikTokification of LinkedIn. Cringe? ?? Not really. It’s actually a good thing. More personality. More videos. More visibility. But here’s the catch: Visibility without credibility is worthless. If you want LinkedIn to bring you clients, revenue, and recognition, here’s what you need to know in 2025: →Engagement > content. Stop posting and hoping. Spend 10x more time commenting on strategic posts than writing your own. Visibility follows interaction. →DMs = deal flow. A well-placed voice note or short video message will outperform any viral post. If you’re not using DMs, you’re leaving money on the table. →Quality > quantity. You don’t need to post daily. You need to post value. One great post beats five forgettable ones. →Founder-led marketin = future-proofing. Business is good today. What about six months from now? Show up consistently so the right people remember you when they need you. →No more ‘post and pray.’ If your network isn’t engaging, either you’re talking to the wrong people or saying things they don’t care about. Fix that first. →Excessive Automation = credibility killer. Fake followers, and mass outreach bots won’t build a business. They’ll kill your credibility (or get you banned). →LinkedIn is a long game. Today’s post might not land you a client, but six months from now? Play for consistency, not instant wins. Lynnaire Johnston, many thanks for sharing the tips ?? Comment below with which of these points hit home for you. #founderledmarketing #personalbranding #b2bmarketing
