This week, the winners of a global sweepstake were invited to our headquarters in Kilchberg, Switzerland, to meet our long-time Lindt Brand Ambassador Roger Federer. They had the unique opportunity to take photos with the Swiss tennis legend and ask him a few questions. The rest of the day was spent at the Lindt Home of Chocolate, starting with a museum tour to discover the history and heritage of Swiss chocolate, followed by a chocolate making course and a visit to the largest Lindt Shop in the world. The experience concluded with a typical Swiss dinner – a perfect end to an extraordinary day. This week, we opened our first Lindt Chocolate Shop in Chile, with a second one to follow before the end of the month. Lindt & Sprüngli established its own subsidiary in Chile earlier this year, as the second market in South America after Brazil. With our own shops, we can actively create a premium shopping #experience, offering a wide range of Lindt products and allowing our Chocolate Advisors to help our Chilean customers find the chocolates they desire. The opening of our first store was a joint #success, with Lindt & Sprüngli Brasil sharing their #expertise from managing more than 80 stores, and Lindt & Sprüngli Chile contributing their local #knowledge. Team members from both subsidiaries were present at the opening ceremony to cut the red ribbon and #celebrate the occasion together. Meet our Lindt Master Chocolatier Ann Czaja! ???? Ann has been enchanting people with chocolate for over 20 years. She joined Lindt & Sprüngli in 2004, after having switched from a #career in medical research to training as a confectioner in Switzerland. ?? Today, Ann develops new recipes for Lindt & Sprüngli USA to meet the American preferences.?She also makes frequent public appearances to share her #passion for Lindt chocolate, including high-profile events such as the Emmys and Golden Globes. ??Ghirardelli arrives in the heart of New York City ?? We are delighted to announce the opening of the first Ghirardelli Chocolate & Ice Cream Shop in the Empire State Building in New York. With over 250 square meters of #retail space, the shop offers an extensive range of Ghirardelli chocolates, a hot fudge kettle machine, as well as 13 different Hot Fudge Sundaes. The new store marks two #icons coming together – the building that has long defined the New York City skyline, and the country’s oldest, continually operating #premium chocolate brand. To celebrate the historic moment, the shop was opened last week by Ghirardelli CEO Joel Burrows, who was joined by singer and New York native Mary J. Blige for the ribbon-cutting ceremony. The Empire State Building even honored the special occasion by lighting up the building in Ghirardelli colors for the evening. Today, the Lindt & Sprüngli Group published its #results for the first half of the year 2024, increasing sales by +7.0% to CHF 2.16 billion in organic terms. In challenging market conditions, Lindt & Sprüngli’s brands showed strength and #resilience, growing market share in all key markets, and we have been able to grow volume/mix by a solid +0.9%. With strong plans and activities ahead, the Group is confident that it will reach the #sales objectives announced for the full year 2024. Someone who truly embodies this #passion is our Lindt Master Chocolatier Thomas Schnetzler. ?? Born and raised in Switzerland, Thomas has turned his childhood fascination with chocolate into a #career. After completing his training as a confectioner, he moved Down Under to become a Master Chocolatier at Lindt & Sprüngli Australia where he crafts and develops unique chocolate creations. As of today, Ana Maria Dominguez will be part of the Lindt & Sprüngli Group Management. With her experienced #leadership and #passion, she will be a valuable addition to the current management team. Ana brings more than 30 years of experience from multinational #FMCG companies in South and North America including several CEO positions in the US and Canada. She joined the Lindt & Sprüngli Group in 2019 as CEO of the Canadian subsidiary and in 2022, she was appointed CEO of Lindt & Sprüngli USA, leading the subsidiary in the world’s largest chocolate market. Last week, a selected group of senior leaders had the opportunity to gather in Lausanne for the 8th annual Lindt & Sprüngli #IMD Senior Leadership Program. Through coaching sessions and team-building activities, the participants strengthened their #leadership skills and strategic mindset to successfully guide their teams in a rapidly evolving business landscape. In addition, participants engaged in fruitful discussions on topics such as digital transformation, the use of artificial intelligence, and sustainability. To celebrate the 100th anniversary of our French factory in Oloron-Sainte-Marie at the foot of the Pyrenees, Lindt & Sprüngli France opened its doors to partners, local institutions, and journalists for a glimpse behind the scenes. ???? Besides an insightful guided tour of the factory, the visitors were able to personalize their own #chocolate bar with the help of our Lindt Master Chocolatier Arnaud Ragot. To conclude the celebrations and mark this symbolic date, country CEO Jean-Baptiste Jarry unveiled a sculpture of the Lindt Master Chocolatier's famous toque and whisk. ?? The Oloron factory is #significant for the Lindt & Sprüngli Group, as it specializes in the production of chocolate bars and Christmas products – up to 1000 employees work on site to help enchant the world with chocolate.
