I found this knee plate as one of the best add on’s we’ve ever built! Attached to our 5th Axis Workholding RockLock plate equipped with a self centering Haas vise Haas Automation, Inc. All mounted on our Miltronics VM4020 Milltronics. This has given us so much diversity to hold work pieces and access multiple side and eliminating vise flip ops!! With technology changing everyday, we recognize the need to adapt and change! Here at Lindstrom we are utilizing our rotary 4th axis for more than complex parts. It also allows you to eliminate set ups by accessing multiple surfaces. Her we have a part set up on our Milltronics VM4020 making a 3 op job into 1 op! Down below are two screen shots. 1 with the required fields empty. The 2nd with dimensions added. It’s really that simple!!! I’ve done left hand as well! All you need to determine is the start point and end point and which direction is your cut. For an internal right handed 1/2-13” thread the picture below has been filled in. It’s a snap!! Anyone have any advise on removing a high speed tool holder from a shrink fit holder??? We have a handheld induction coil heater, but we haven't had any luck getting it to move! It's a 5/8" diameter tool, I have placed the entire holder in the freezer but haven't had any luck! The tool is only in the holder 1/4" deep but I can't get any movement! So the question has come up on spindle warm-up procedures. I'm sure there are many variables, how long the machine has not run.... etc. But for standard day to day operation, what is your spindle warm-up process?
