Last Wednesday was full of treats! ?? ?? At our Speed Dating Social last week, LWiB members connected and networked through quick one-minute conversations. A fun and engaging way to meet fellow members and strengthen our LWiB community. ?? Last week’s social also provided an opportunity for members to give back to the Cincinnati community. Members made Valentine’s Day cards for children at the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Cincinnati and donated professional clothing to Cincinnati's Dress for Success Worldwide initiative. To top it off, we welcomed President Kayla Niklaus' dad, who shared some fatherly advice for our members! Thank you to everyone who contributed to making this event so special! ???? ?

Earlier this week, LWiB welcomed Marcie Wright, CFP? from Bahl & Gaynor to our Money Management Workshop! Marcie shared valuable insights from her career journey and offered advice about various topics including imposter syndrome, money management, and budgeting.??? ???? A central theme of Marcie’s talk was her commitment to continuous learning. Throughout her career, she’s refined and developed her skill set by obtaining different certifications and degrees. Here at LWiB and within the University of Cincinnati Carl H. Lindner College of Business, we share the same belief in the power of lifelong learning. By collaborating with business professionals and our peers, we can all grow personally and professionally. The most powerful asset we have is each other, and within LWiB, we are committed to expanding members’ networks so they, too, can continuously learn. We want to extend a huge thank you to Marcie for sharing her time and experiences with us! The lessons she shared will undoubtedly benefit our members throughout their careers. As the fall semester comes to a close, LWiB is excited to finish strong and continue empowering our members for success! ? ??

Last week, LWiB hosted our Professional Development Workshop!??? ? At the workshop, members had the chance to engage with guest speakers from AMEND Consulting and Cintas. Company representatives helped LWiB members review their resumes, navigate internship opportunities, and shared valuable interview advice. Additionally, LWiB members with co-op and internship experience generously shared their insights with fellow members! We were thrilled to have both former and current interns representing Cincinnati Fortune 500 companies such as Kroger and Western & Southern Financial Group, among others. To top things off, Victoria Mrofchak provided LWiB members the opportunity to update their headshots! Outside the University of Cincinnati Carl H. Lindner College of Business, members lined up to have beautiful headshots taken that showcased University of Cincinnati’s stunning campus. We want to extend a huge thank you to our Chief Experience Officer, Mallory Crawford, for hosting this fantastic event! This workshop perfectly aligned with this year’s theme of networking. Last week, LWiB hosted a sweet social: Cupcake Catch Up! ?? At this event, members had the opportunity to showcase their creativity by decorating cupcakes. It was the perfect occasion to welcome new members through engaging discussion questions, ranging from fun facts to career goals. Cupcake Catch Up also served as a platform to promote our upcoming events and initiatives! First, we heard from President Kayla Niklaus about our new Mentor/Mentee Program, in which upperclassmen will be paired with freshmen. With the launch of this program, we aim to provide valuable opportunities for leadership and guidance. Next, Chief Community Service Office Audrey Allen shared details about an upcoming service event where members will clean up neighborhoods in Cincinnati. To close, Chief Empowerment Day Officer Holly Doxey discussed her exciting plans for our 2025 Empowerment Day! The semester is moving quickly, and we're thrilled for our future events! As always, we're dedicated to providing members with opportunities to grow their personal and professional networks! ???? ?

As we embark on a new school year, LWiB welcomes both new and familiar faces who are passionate about expanding their personal and professional networks. ???? ?? At our Kickoff Meeting yesterday, President Kayla Niklaus and Vice President Taylor Schlinger unveiled our new theme: Networking. At LWiB, we believe that we are each other's strongest assets. Through our connections, we have the opportunity to grow personally and professionally. To set the tone for the school year, we were honored to welcome Lydia Jacobs-Horton, a double University of Cincinnati graduate and retired Vice President of Global Facilities & Real Estate at Procter & Gamble. Lydia shared insights on the importance of establishing personal unique value propositions and setting clear, positive, and controllable intentions. Her advice, drawn from her book Run, Reach, Respect outlines simple approaches to achieving successful outcomes. We extend our gratitude to Lydia for her time and expertise which will benefit us at the University of Cincinnati Carl H. Lindner College of Business. We're thrilled for the future here at LWiB! A new school year offers new perspectives, new connections, and new opportunities! ??
