This week at Lincoln High School our students are participating in Presentations of Learning (POL), individual presentations that are personal reflections of their growth, citing evidence from class, club, and/or athletic experiences. Yesterday, our seniors participated in mock interviews where they shared their resume and cover letters, and interviewed for an entry level position. The students used their own interests and transferable skills to share why they should be hired. We would like to thank all of the students and teachers for their hard work and preparation. Thank you to Lori Williams for organizing the POLs and inviting our community partners! Thank you to all of the individuals who came to support our students and get interview experience! #LincolnHiveLights Will Rivera, California Coast Credit Union; Brandon Rauch, San Diego Gas & Electric; Lorraine Hussey, Bernards; Baltazar Perez, Elementary Institute of Science; Donella Anderson, RBLP-T, Booz Allen Hamilton; Mwenda KudumuBiggs, PhD, Fleet Science Center; Nathaniel Peterson, Gafcon PM-CM LLC; Beatrice Ruttagah; Share' Johnson, Alyssa Abellar, James McConchie, United Way of San Diego County; David Breaux, AmeriHome Mortgage Company, LLC; Jason Babineau; Malic J., Alyssa Harris, PHRca, Torrey Pines Bank; Alfredo Covarrubias, Bridge Bank; Pana Hap, Junior Achievement of San Diego County; Jessica Travis; and Christina Braden Moore

We are excited for the partnership with the Educational Cultural Complex (ECC) and the opportunity our students have to complete the HVAC program and pursue a HVAC career. #LincolnHiveLights
So excited for the growing partnership between Lincoln High School and the Educational Cultural Complex (ECC). Starting next semester, we will send Hornets to ECC for their HVAC program. Every senior who finishes will get job placement support and certification test prep. This full wrap around program really IS college because every credit they will earn articulates to City College! Next school year, we will start the welding partnership. Both of these industries are in high demand and we know that they both lead to skilled careers that change lives. Ultimately, school is to help kids create a career. Period. Whether kids find their way through a four year university or a credited trade program, the goal is a CHOICE FILLED LIFE and a PLAN! LETS GO HORNETS! EVERY HORNET NEEDS A PLAN!

*UPDATE*: To see the article and video on the segment, please click the updated link below. Some of our Lincoln Hornets participated in a FOX 5 San Diego (KSWB-TV) news story about their Friendship Bracelet classroom project in conjunction with schools in Tijuana!?Lincoln Hornets know how to REP THE HIVE! Jess Rogawski's Drawing/Painting class last year participated in a collaborative, binational art project along with other San Diego Unified School District students. Our Lincoln students created paintings that represented friendship that later became interwoven with paintings from students across the border in Tijuana. All together, they created a giant friendship bracelet. “Friendship Bracelet” is on display at Balboa Park Cultural Partnership in front of the The San Diego Museum of Art this Tuesday as a part of the World Design Conference. #LincolnHiveLights https://lnkd.in/gQyvsuVG
