Sporting the bad to support the good! Last week, Linbeck had a great time putting the green at Texas Children's Hospital's 26th Annual Bad Pants Open. Benefiting the hospital's Newborn Center and neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), this year's tournament will help fund Hand To Hold, a national non-profit offering critical support to families in the NICU. Last week, Linbeck celebrated our third and final #VeteransDay at the National Medal of Honor Museum. Together with members of the museum, Charlotte Jones, the Dallas Cowboys, and The Brandt Companies (Southland Industries), we hosted a lunch for 300—including more than 40 returning jobsite veterans. As part of the event, Linbeck guided players from the Cowboys on a special tour of the jobsite, sharing the significance of every architectural element (Rafael Vi?oly Architects). This year, we were particularly proud to see our own Deanna Boswell recognized with a “Veterans Impact Player” award by Zack Martin, Offensive Line Captain for the Cowboys. Deanna’s five-generation legacy of service and love of country shine through every day. We are grateful she is a part of our Linbeck family! Signed, sealed, delivered! At their homecoming event last weekend, students and alumni of Southwestern University were able to leave their mark on the new University Welcome Center by signing a beam that will be incorporated into the 19,400 SF building. Alumni were also invited to enjoy a hard hat tour of Mood-Bridwell Hall, currently undergoing renovations. What an exciting week at The University of Texas at Arlington! On Monday, Linbeck celebrated the topping out of the new Maverick Hall: a five-story, 206,000 SF residence hall that features 654 beds and all the amenities a student could want (or need). This milestone marks a significant step in the construction process and our providing a vibrant living space for the university’s growing student body.
