    At Limu we use technology to create fun opportunities for children to experience the magic of African languages

    Today, we celebrate the diversity of languages and cultures that make Africa rich and vibrant. For my MBA research I interviewed parents from linguistically diverse backgrounds who also had children in private schools, the research revealed that a vast majority of their children couldn't speak their mother language . However, the research also revealed that those that did speak their mother tongue had one thing in common: their parents were intentional about passing on their language and cultural heritage,like these parents Limu Lab is intentional and passionate about exposing children to African languages in fun and relatable way.     On Tuesday I had the pleasure of presenting at the Pendoring Awards Indigenous Language Imbizo-#speakSouthAfrican. The Imbizo brought together creatives and language enthusiasts to discuss various topics surrounding indigenous languages. The focus for the panel discussion this year was technology, the digital world and how indigenous languages fit into this. Sphumelele Sibeko and I had the privilege of sharing with various delegates on how Limu Lab is using technology to promote the love for indigenous language learning and how we are playing our part in language preservation.

    Okay, the last few months have been something else for us at Limu. Learning the true meaning of ‘fail fast, fail forward’!?Not easy, but we have chosen this path and we continue to learn, improve, and build. Proud of Sifiso Danisa and I along with our amazing team for learning to embrace the (constant) flames, and using the rough times to figure things out! Excited for the improvements that are coming in the next few weeks/months as we use feedback that will help us cater further to our customers’ needs.?
