??Let’s talk ?????????????????? ???????????????? for the OR… ??The Universal Protocol is a guide that helps health care professionals and consists of 3 Key steps. ?????? ?????? ?????? ???????? ???????? ?????????? ?????? ???????????????? ?? ?????????? ???????? ???????????? ???? ?????????????????? ??????-?????????????????????? ???? ?????????? ???? ???????????? ???????? ?????????????????? ????????????????? Those are: 1. The correct patient name should be confirmed. 2. The correct date of birth should be confirmed. 3. The correct medical record should be confirmed. 4. The correct procedure side/site should be confirmed. 5. The confirmation of any blood products available should be confirmed. 6. The correct side/site is marked on the patient by the Surgeon. 7. An up to date History and Physical should be READ and confirmed. 8. The confirmation of any X-rays / Diagnostic Studies necessary for the surgery should be confirmed. ??…..and a bonus …..
