Hello everyone! We have an exciting announcement to share that highlights an important milestone in our careers as students of the craft of performance psychology. As of this month, both members of Limitless (Jake & Mike) have earned the title of Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC?) through the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP). Clarity surrounding what this credential means and looks like can be found on the proceeding slides. Feel free to DM us here or through our website if you have any questions or would like to know more! Our aim as CMPCs is to help performers increase proficiency in a variety of cognitive processes and self-regulation skills, effectively building out a “mental toolbox” that is unique to them. We look to enable each of our clients to be consistent and successful when working with their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors; in any context. As always, thank you for reading and following along! All relevant links can be found via the LinkTree in our bio. Have a great Thursday! #limitless #performance #psychology #meettheteam #AASP #CMPC

?? Hello and welcome in! This week, we're excited to share another valuable lesson from The Learner Lab, focused on maximizing learning and improving performance. (If you've been following us for a while, you know we're big fans of The Learner Lab and Trevor Ragan.) This week’s short video (~7 min) highlights how small shifts in our approach and mindset can deepen our learning from life experiences. It all comes down to two simple, research-backed practices: intention setting and reflection. ?? Intention setting helps shape our actions, emotions, and thoughts toward a desired way of being. Unlike goals— which focus on specific outcomes—intentions are rooted in values, guiding the quality of our experiences rather than just the results. ?? Reflection allows us to make sense of experiences, learn from them, and gain deeper self-awareness. Many of us do this daily, but how intentional are we about it? Example: Imagine you’re a snowboarder or skier preparing for nationals and you’re struggling to stay focused in practice. ? Intention: I choose to bring presence and full engagement to each run, trusting my preparation and adapting with curiosity. (Not about results—about cultivating mindfulness and deeper engagement.) ?? Reflection questions: - What moments felt the most fluid or in control, and what contributed to that? - Where did I face challenges, and how did I respond to them? - How did my mindset affect my performance today, and what adjustments could help next time? This practice is simple and backed by research (see MM post from 11/4/24). Try it out and see how it impacts your performance! ???? ?? The last few moments of yesterday’s Alabama @ Auburn college basketball game became a strong display of what high mental performance in clutch moments can look like. ?? Mark Sears, amongst his teammates, displayed a confident, well-trained mindset in action. Before the opportunity arose, this man made it all happen in his mind; he clutched the game-winning shot while telling himself that he’d do exactly that. ?? This moment is an amalgamation of the work (physical + mental + technical) that he’s put in over the years; both on and off the court. Confidence, and a strong belief in yourself, comes from putting in the work, refining self-talk, maintaining authenticity, building on past-successes, and creating an encouraging inner climate. Mark knows. Check it out here: https://lnkd.in/gjtRkYYr —————————— #Confidence #Belief #SelfBelief #Deliver #Clutch

????? If you like pow, and you like planet earth, this organization is for you. Protect Our Winters (POW) is an organization committed to prioritizing, rallying around, and taking action to improve the health of planet earth. ?? There are countless ways to contribute here- especially so in behavior. The way that we interact with our environment (not littering), the goods we purchase/consume (<local), the response that happens when you see a plastic water bottle rolling around on the floor in front of you (grab it), or contributing to organizations in some way (like this one)— each day presents opportunities to protect both our winters, and our planet. ?? Ever feel like you don’t deserve your success? Like any moment, people will realize you’re not as capable as they think? That’s impostor syndrome—doubting your abilities, even when evidence proves otherwise. It can show up anywhere, anytime, and I still experience it myself. Adam Grant offers a simple yet powerful reframe: ?? Impostor syndrome: “I don’t know what I’m doing. It’s only a matter of time until everyone finds out.” ?? Growth mindset: “I don’t know what I’m doing yet. It’s only a matter of time until I figure it out.” This shift reframes uncertainty as part of learning, shifts the focus inward, and expands the timeline—giving us patience in the process. True confidence isn’t about knowing everything. It’s about trusting your ability to learn. Where might this powerful reframe be helpful in your life? Be well. ————————————— #GrowthMindset #Limitless #MentalPerformance #WeeklyMessage

With gratitude, you can move forward through anything. That’s the heart of this week’s message, brought by Mike Shaw—former freeskier, professional coach, and now a mental health counselor, author, speaker, and still, a skier. In The Healing Agent, a Red Bull film, Mike shares his journey alongside family, friends, and his care team, revisiting the life-altering moment that changed everything. ?? December 16, 2013 – Keystone, CO ?? Dislocated and broke his neck (C4-C5) ?? Fused five vertebrae ?? Diagnosed with an incomplete spinal cord injury Mike’s story is a powerful reminder of our choices—the power to choose where we place our focus, how we reframe challenges, the strength of a support system, the value of a growth mindset, and ultimately, the impact of choosing gratitude every day.
