Science, stories, and sensemaking

关于我们

Liminal is a science communication collective that uses sensemaking to cut through the noise. This approach is deeply personal, politically engaged, and massively multidisciplinary. We understand that our most urgent challenges – pandemics, climate change, artificial intelligence – are dire threats to the health and well-being of our societies and ecosystems. We believe these problems cannot be solved without science, but they cannot be solved by science alone. We must rely not just on our heads but also our hearts, our guts, and each other to make sense of what is truly happening and what to do about it—this is the essence of sensemaking. At Liminal, we believe that science has a crucial role to play in sensemaking, which means that meaningful engagement beyond academic circles is essential. We work with scientists who want their work to matter but feel alone and adrift in large volumes of low-value advice. Through coaching, training, and collaborations, we make science communication make sense to scientists, so that science can make sense for everyone.
