Lime has rolled into Japan! ???????? Earlier this week, we launched in Tokyo, marking our first time serving Japan. This is a major milestone toward our mission to build a future where transportation is shared, affordable and carbon-free, as we work to bring micromobility to more cities around the world. We’re so excited to be back in East Asia and we plan to be here for the long term! We kicked off our service at 5am Monday morning, with service in Shibuya, Shinjuku, Meguro, Setagaya, Toshima and Nakano, with plans to gradually expand over time. As covered in Bloomberg, we’re launching Gen4.1 e-scooters and our Gen4.1 Seated, which will add a seated scooter to the Japanese market for the first time. Safety and tidiness will be a key focus of our program, which is why we’re launching with our helmet selfie feature to incentivize safe riding. We can’t wait to deliver a best-in-class service to Japanese residents and begin delivering the benefits micromobility offers, including less traffic, cleaner air, improved convenience when commuting to and from work and emissions-free travel. Last week, Lime took part in the U.S. Department of Transportation's Transportation and Climate Symposium, alongside public, private and non-profit sector leaders from across the United States. The conversation focused on how cross-sector collaboration can support efforts to decarbonize transportation across the country. Representing Lime, our Senior Director for Expansion, Robert Gardner, highlighted the many steps we've taken to support sustainable mobility in cities by: ???????Replacing more than 125 million car trips to date ???? Decarbonizing our own business and supply chain to reach a science-based net zero target by 2030. We were pleased to join the United State's Department of Transportation Deputy Secretary Polly Trottenberg and United State's Housing and Urban Development General Counsel, Damon Smith, while our local DC Operations and Government Relations teams led by Erika Duthely showed off our industry-leading Gen4 fleet that recently saw its highest ever monthly utilization in DC in June. Lime, London Cycling Campaign, and LOUD MOBILITY have come together? to ‘Share the Joy’ with the launch of a brand new community cycling fund in London. The new fund and campaign aims to celebrate London’s love for cycling, and make it more accessible… and more enjoyable too! ?? ? The ￡100k fund will help to support organisations and community groups who are improving London’s Accessibility and Inclusion, Health and Wellbeing, and Skills and Connectivity, all through spreading the joy of cycling ?? ? Funded by Lime, the community cycling fund is managed by London Cycling Campaign with support from Loud Mobility, and the first cohort of fund recipients include Cycle Sisters, London Bike Kitchen, The Bike Project, Wheels For Wellbeing and many more. Each will each receive a ￡2,500 grant to support things like core costs, project costs, and new equipment ?????? to increase equitable access to all the benefits of cycling, and may otherwise have difficulty accessing proper funding.
