Today is the International Day of Prosthetics and Orthotics, which recognizes the importance of advocating for prostheses and orthoses users – A value exemplified through every bionic arm Limbitless delivers. The International Society for Prosthetics and Orthotics (ISPO) launched this day in line with its founding in 1970. ISPO aims to be a voice for prostheses and orthoses (P&O) users – championing their belief in fair and appropriate access to these services. ISPO follows the World Health Organization’s five ’P’ people-centered model, with the following areas: People, Policy, Personnel, Products, and Provision. The model highlights different components that must be considered to improve access to prosthetic and orthotic services.
