Embracing new technology often comes with its challenges—steep learning curves and the need to shift mindsets—but the rewards are usually worth it. Today, I'm preparing for the delivery of an exciting innovation: a collaborative effort with Limber Prosthetics & Orthotics. This custom solution was designed in response to a specific patient request for a "shower leg," addressing an everyday activity many of us may take for granted. This project has me thinking: What other daily activities might patients struggle with due to gaps and lags in current technology (and in the US healthcare system)?

Do you already miss all the conversations, learning, and collaboration? Not to worry! Your 2024 AOPA report is here! This is not a comprehensive report, but it does highlight quite a number of varied exhibitors on the AOPA show floor. While the wonderful AOPA team highlighted some of the educational workshops, I decided to be the tradeshow roving reporter no one asked for. The reality is, there is so much to see and learn that it's impossible to do it all. But wouldn't it be nice to know what other exhibitors are showcasing? ... Especially if you're manning the booth the whole time? Knowledge is power, and we should all have the ability to access information, especially if we paid thousands of dollars as an exhibitor to attend & exhibit, or even $100's as an attendee. My very first business trip to San Diego was about 30 years ago. It was memorable both professionally and personally: it was one of the first industry events in which I participated during the day, and I remember exact details of 3 big nights with co-workers who became dear friends. On my way back to San Diego last night, I felt a similar anticipation. Limber Prosthetics & Orthotics is a sponsor of the US Open of Adaptive Surfng in Oceanside. It will be my first event within this new and amazing professional community, and I have new professional connections with whom I'm anxious to connect. Yet Limber affords me a bonus, allowing me to meet people whose lives have been changed by our products. I hope I will reflect on this event in the future and say the same thing: I made dear friends.
