Machine learning algorithms were applied to predict and optimize cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs) production via sulfuric acid hydrolysis. The study successfully identified optimal conditions for CNC yield and crystallinity. 2. ?? The Gradient Boosting Decision Tree (GBDT) model achieved the highest prediction accuracy with R2 = 0.86 and RMSE = 9.15 for CNC yield, outperforming other models like Random Forest (RF) and Decision Tree (DT). 3. ?? The model predicted a CNC yield of 61% at specific conditions (60% acid concentration, acid/cellulose ratio of 8, temperature of 54°C, and reaction time of 50 min), and this result was experimentally validated with a 58.3% yield, showing an error of less than 4.6%. 4. ??
