When talking about innovation, the relationship between enterprise and the public sector often flows one way: governments want to emulate the fast-moving solutions that businesses come up with. But with skills-based hiring, we’re seeing the opposite: the public sector is leading the way in opening new doors to workers without a college degree. >> https://lnkd.in/eqxnWRS6 cc: Cole Napper Joshua Wright Christopher Laney, EdD, MBA

A new report, commissioned by the Futures Group, offers a comprehensive analysis of the workforce and skills landscape within the UK Life Sciences sector. Alongside updating findings from the previous study, this research introduces new insights derived from both official statistics published by government departments and our own Lightcast data to enhance understanding of business needs, recruitment priorities, and skills requirements over the next decade. The research has four objectives: 1) Project sector growth potential over the next decade by analysing past trends. 2) Identify specific skill requirements needed to realise the sector’s potential. 3) Outline current skill gaps by job type. 4) Assess the talent pipeline required to achieve the sector’s potential. Here's just a taste of the data an insights (including AI's infusion of skills into Life Sciences, a regional jobs breakdown and more). Read the full report here: https://lnkd.in/d3SJ_53U Grounded in the latest data, the findings provide strategic insights for industry leaders and policymakers to ensure the UK maintains its position as a global leader in Life Sciences.

Labor data led this The New York Times story about the recent US tariffs. They wanted to: understand what industries are being impacted on a state by state level, look at counties and the jobs therein which have the potential to be most affected by the tariffs, and map how US jobs are adversely impacted by Canada, China, and the EU's retaliatory tariffs. They came to us for this comprehensive data. We deliver data and insights on the labor market to companies, higher education institutions, and the public sector to contextualize and power their decisions. Reach out to find out how we can help you. >> https://lightcast.io And view all the data we supplied for NYT's look at tariffs, by reading the full story: https://lnkd.in/eaQ4GFgN

The retail industry is at a pressure point, facing a workforce risk score of 3 out of 5. Organizations in the retail industry can expect already tight labor market conditions to intensify. Younger, entry-level workers are in a critical shortage, while fewer than expected retirees are reentering the workforce in frontline roles. Find out where your organization ranks in our retail workforce risk assessment: https://lnkd.in/ekn4EKx7
