Rough & Tumble bags won the lottery with the combination of this one-of-a-kind space on Exchange Street, Portland ME and the exceptional vision of Lauren Rosenberg (LR/ARC). Top of the client’s lighting must-haves: a flexible system for retail display flexibility, a welcoming warm tone, LOTS (and I mean LOTS) of accent light, and architectural fixtures that produce but then disappear ??. Thank you to Maine Home + Design for recognizing this fun retail project in the November Architecture Issue! And thank you to our rep and manufacturer partners: Exposure.Inc and Zaniboni Lighting. ??: Erin Little

One year, can you believe it? The last twelve months have been a fantastic ride; simultaneously the start of something new and the clear continuation of a 10-year path. We’ve lit breweries, retail spaces, and schools...showpiece new homes & story-filled renovations. Thank you to those who made me feel as if I’d never left the Maine design community and those who brought me into new ones. This venture has been everything I’d hoped for and more, and I am so excited to show you what’s cooking for year 2! I am booking up for new projects this summer, so if you have something in mind, be sure to reach out asap?? best, grace, lighting designer & light+form studio founder

Lighting designers have a responsibility to understand a project as deeply and intimately as the architect or end user and assist in the communication of both the intended design and utilization of the space. There’s nothing like a good collaboration ? Thrilled to be a part of this month’s?New England Home alongside?longtime friend and colleague Janeen Arnold of Salt of Maine Design Co. ?? This client’s quest for quality design extended through all facets of the build - from thoughtful details to brilliant use of materials and finally, intentional architectural lighting creating a natural visual hierarchy in the space. In residential architectural lighting, our goals are accomplished if the eye is not drawn toward light sources, but rather the stunning detail work of the interiors & architectural team. Here, we accomplished that with minimal?SONNEMAN? - A Way of Light 2” downlights,?WAC Lighting 1” recessed pucks, as well as others. Congrats to the whole team on a job well done!
