Last week LIFT attended the GSAN- Georgia Statewide Afterschool Network BOOST Celebration! The Building Opportunities in Out of School Time (BOOST) Luncheon and Celebration at Zoo Atlanta?was a wonderful event that celebrated the amazing impact that came out of the BOOST grant. LIFT Youth Center is forever honored to be one of 104 recipients across the state. As this grant has come to an end, we are thankful as the funding helped us get off the ground and establish high-quality afterschool programming. Superintendent Woods of the Georgia Department of Education spoke about why afterschool programming is so important for students and how partnerships with schools are hugely beneficial to seeing improved outcomes. Matt Ryan, former Atlanta Falcons quarterback, was a special guest who also spoke about his experience with afterschool programs and how he has witnessed firsthand the difference it can make in a student’s life. Thank you to the?GSAN team—Kinyatta Aloaye Trice, PhD, Jed Dews, Justin Swartzwelder, and Tiffany Thornton — each of you aided LIFT along the way over the past three years and we are forever grateful! Special thank you to Katie Landes and Uzma Azhar as well for your faithful advocacy and hard work to enhance afterschool opportunities across the state of Georgia.

Tuesday evening our Executive Director attended 100+ Women Who Care Chattanooga's 5-year BIG GIVE meeting. It was an honor to be considered among numerous awesome local nonprofits! We have a community full of amazing folks giving of themselves to make life better for others.
