Such a busy time of the year! How are you spending your day? Rushing to buy Christmas presents, cleaning up the house, working an extra shirt, or taking care of someone you love. We can find ourselves unaware of the wonderful things around us.
Kurt Vonnegut once told a story that struck us as important for everyone to consider. He told of a time when he would go out and buy an envelope. He explained to his wife what he was about to do, and she replied that he wasn't a poor man and that he could buy a hundred envelopes and put them in the closet.
He pretended not to hear her and went on his way as he expected to have a good time while out buying one envelope. He met many people, saw great-looking babies, and watched a fire engine drive by. He gave them a thumbs up. He would speak to people and ask them about their dogs. The moral of the story is - we're here on Earth to 'fart around' according to Kurt.
Let's face it, computers will order our envelopes and the people making those computers don't realize, or care, that we're dancing animals. You know, we love to move around.
Let's all get up and move around a bit right now ... or at least dance.
The moral of this story? Take that short time for yourself and see how it changes your outlook on the day. Enjoy Your Day!
